It’s of little help to current followers of the stable that Stoute won some big races in the past five years. I am talking about his prospects for this season and I am not seeing much on the horizon.

If you believe getting winners in big races is matter of luck then I would agree to some extent but a famine in a powerful yard is hard to put down to fortune only. You also have to look at the owners and the well bred horses Stoute is working with. He gets a lot of material many trainers can only dream about.

As the season unfolds we will see how it pans out.

You make some good points about SMS’s current and recent form Steve; got to be taken in to account. However, has also proven over the years he can improve four year olds like practically no other trainer.

Telescope seems weak in the betting for tomorrow. Last night he went from Evs to 11/10 with Sky Hunter coming in to 5/2. Tonight it is 13/8 the pair of them. Seems a little worrying to me.
