Not much confidence in this horse in the market, will look and see if he’s fit on course (big type) so…

Like a lot of bets Softie, it was mainly down to price. After studying the form I too thought I’d be opposing Magic City! I’d made him the "best" horse in the race but (as you imply) probably would not be suited by the ground. However, 11/2 made it worth a saver (SP 100/30). If acting on it he’d win, if not – he’d lose. Although it wasn’t his very best form, did have some reasonable efforts on good-soft.
Going through my "trainer form" Marco Botti was the only one rated with a "*
". Everything looked good for a bet on Hasopop, stays 7f and acts on soft ground, until I got thinking… does he stay 7f on soft ground? Put me off.
I got it wrong again!

Let`s see how wrong you get Ascot then, school report must be due so don`t want any "could have done betters" on it.
Have a sneaky feeling that won`t happen though.
