Morning all, especially to Swallow Cottage and Mikky Mo.
Welcome once again to my version of ATR’S Get On but without the interviews.
After a degree of success last week thanks in main to Mike Weir the show rolls on, so without further ado here are my choices for this week.
As they are under way first i will begin with the Ladies and the Honda Thailand Open, i see that Lorena is having the week of to presumably get over the jet lag or give the others a chance

My three for this in the hope that JC has not already put his two penneth on are Annika Sorenstam, Paula Creamer and Maria Hjorth with Annika carrying the major burden of my outlay for this.
Next to the Mallorca Open, although he has a good recent record i can’t have Sergio at current odds, i certainly give every respect to Niclas Fasth but for me hpoing the cigar’s are up to scratch Miguel-Angel Jimenez, Francesco Molinari and believe it or not my Ante-Post pick for European Order Of Merit Johan Edfors will be going to war here.
Stateside this weeks see’s the Gin Sur Mer Classic, for me a tricky one to solve as all are but it really is wide open, but having scratched what’s left of the barnet last night have rowed in with Lucas Glover,Tim Clark and at a price Ben Curtis.
Finally to the OAP’S and the Charles Schwab Championship and here it’s all in on Tom Watson.
As always Good Luck to all.
October 24, 2007 at 12:56 #121201Well done wakeman in selecting Weir last week and you seem to be in good form recently. I see you’ve picked Glover this week so maybe I have a chance of winning

Here are my losing selections for this week —
The mallorca classic is played at at a par 70 course which can be quite difficult with conditions sometimes made worse by strong winds and players can struggle to make par. It doesn’t seem to suit the long hitters and accuracy and good iron play can bring rewards which is why past winners include Garcia and Olazabel. Sergio Garcia is my favorite player ( partly because he has won me more money in golf betting than any other player ) but he has not won for over 2 years now and odds of 5/1 do not appeal to me especially as his accuracy this year has not been as good as in previous years. Fasth may go close but I never have any luck when betting on him.
I will bet on J M Lara who likes this tournament and finished 3rd last year and 2nd in 2005. My other bet is on Soren Kjeldsen who is a good accurate iron player at his best. The Ginn sur Mer Classic event in the USA is a new tournament and I am unsure how difficult it will be. It could suit the long hitters. I was going to bet on Clark but he is now a non starter. My main bet is on Heath Slocum who is not a long hitter but the rest of his game is in good shape. My money is also on Lucas Glover who is a talented player but can be a moody and hot headed individual who can play excellently and then go quickly into reverse gear when he hits one bad shot or sees his name at the top of the leaderboard. I was not going to bet on him but when I saw his odds were 33/1 on BF then I could not resist it as that is value in my opinion. I’ve also backed Jeff Overton who is a big hitter and finished 2nd a few weeks back and played reasonably last week. 100/1 is fair value.
Good luck.October 24, 2007 at 13:30 #121213Hi again Swallow Cottage, firstly thanks for telling me that Tim Clark is having it off this week if you pardon the pun, will replace him with Daniel Chopra, had umd and ahd about Sean O’hair but will pass him over this week.
Hopefully i will be of some help to you with Lucas Glover as i think he is due, much as i have been rambling on about a certain Ernie Els for the last few weeks.
All the best for now.
October 25, 2007 at 01:29 #121310OK guys, I haven’t studied at all this week so have decided to stick to the European Tour.
My sister turned 40 today, so my selections are three 40/1 shots: JM Lara, J Randhawa and T Bjorn – that’s about as logical as I can get at this time of year.
If any of them win, then sadly, I don’t have any sisters turning 66, 100, or even 33 next week

Mike
ps, good luck Wakeman and SC
