FSL, I think Corm means that if Coolmore race a gelding which beats all their new colts its not really good business sense is it…
He’s more likely to go hurdling or as non vintage says sell him to someone in the states..
March 13, 2007 at 12:08 #45144Is there not some sort of fertility treatment they can give him?
If so, I’d imagine they’d be far more likely to try a remedy than geld him.
Even if there’s just a 10% chance they could get his stud career back on track, the potential upside would make it a worthwhile gamble.

Steve
June 8, 2007 at 16:47 #1902Will Authorize be taking on GW before the year is out?
June 8, 2007 at 16:56 #64024I very much doubt it. George Washington is essentially a miler pure and simple and I don’t think Authorized will be dropped in trip beyond 10f.
GW has some 10f entries and might get away with it on quickish ground in weaker company, but I don’t expect them to clash given what connections of Authorized have said about their plans for the horse.

Would be great Andy, but there is about as much chance as Jilly get her top off in the lounge.
June 8, 2007 at 17:48 #64027is he a certain non stayer….why?

June 8, 2007 at 21:05 #64028I’d love to see George do a Chief Singer and try the July Cup followed by a romp over 10.

He certainly didn’t stay it in the Breeder’s cup, travelled like a dream on the surface, but had shot his bolt well below the distance.
On that showing, he has no chance of staying a properly run 10f over here.
Is he related to Authorized? :shades:
June 10, 2007 at 03:35 #64031I just don’t seem able to get it right . Alzhiemer response I suppose. Hope I spelt that right.
June 19, 2007 at 15:37 #2072Far more wound up than for the QE11 and ran a really strange race of course.
But then again, is that as good as he is? Some of his form isnt all that i suppose…
June 19, 2007 at 15:40 #65410Not his true running today. Pulled going to the post and a bigger field / faster pace would’ve suited him. Disappointing performance but capable of much better.
Was an odd race and I wouldn’t expect the form to work out.
June 19, 2007 at 15:42 #65412I don’t think that was his true form today, the way he ran on would tempt me at the Irish Champion stakes. I think he may still of been in need of the run and Turtle Bowl pays Manduro a big compliment. Jeremy takes a little shine off the form imo
June 19, 2007 at 15:43 #65413Very unusual race and GW was running on again. Bit peed off as I marked Ramonti as one of my horses for Ascot but was put off by Godolphin’s in and out form.
June 19, 2007 at 15:44 #65414on the back of that i would back him next time out, this was never his ultimate goal and i (just) managed to stop myself backing him last minute.
imo this was all part of the big picture to get him used to the racecourse again (did you see how much he was pulling) just like goodwood last year.
you can pick holes in his form all you want but when you look at how he travelled and then picked up instantly in the QEII it seems to me that was the warm up for a big one, he was going again at the end!
June 19, 2007 at 15:45 #65415just like goodwood last year.
Agreed.
June 19, 2007 at 15:46 #65416Frustrating the way that race turned out. More questions than answers.
