Nice on Trackside…
Is the atmosphere as good as ESPN make it look?
Often toyed with the idea of going over…Its Belmont next year isnt it? Think i have a meeting in new york around that time ;)
Wasnt being serious about Kempton although would be nice to see…
November 6, 2006 at 15:14 #30122We want to see horses prove how good they are on the racecourse, not listen to some Irishman tell us how good they are.
Why bring nationality into it?

Doubt breeders will make their mating choices on results alone, more the manner in which they were achieved.
November 6, 2006 at 15:38 #30124Trackside,
You most certainly did! He was quite good. I watched the ESPN coverage online thanks to a link put up by Aidan, and it was fantastic to see a new and much different perspective.
John McCririck was on for 2 minutes prior to the classic I thibk and started to rant about how everytime Jamie Spencer wins a big race, his wife has to have new diamonds! The Americans had not a clue as what he was referring – hilarious stuff, though not very relevant.
November 6, 2006 at 15:41 #30125And any US viewers that did were probably thinking "he has winners?"
November 6, 2006 at 15:45 #30126:biggrin:
There was some reference by the Americans to his horrendous ride on Powerscourt earlier on in the programme…
November 6, 2006 at 16:41 #411George Washington’s Stud Fee?
I’ll have a punt at 60,000 euros.November 6, 2006 at 16:47 #30361€50,000 ;)
November 6, 2006 at 17:02 #30362Stud fee: 50,000<br>Stud value: penny-three-farthings
November 6, 2006 at 21:43 #30363Dont like High Chaparral’s chances as a stallion. He will also struggle for the better mares with Galileo and Montjeu already confirming their status as the up and coming stallions.

November 6, 2006 at 21:59 #30365Great punt DJ!
George is astonishingly over-priced at that IMO, as are the other newcomers Ad Valorem and Aussie Rules.
November 6, 2006 at 22:00 #30366What was Galileo last year?
November 6, 2006 at 22:00 #30367How cheap did you expect him Cormack….he is a dual Group 1 winner at 2, same again at 3 including a Classic and all age race. Would not have surprised me if he was anything between 60-90k.
November 6, 2006 at 22:01 #30368As if you couldn’t guess, I’d already heard:biggrin: Fully agree that 60,000 euros is rather expensive.
November 6, 2006 at 22:04 #30369€37,500 Gareth….quite a leap. When you consider Montjeu had an Arc winner, Epsom and Irish Derby winner, Leger winner etc in his first year yet he was never as high as Galileo is now. Would be interesting to know what change if any did Red Rocks’s win have on his price.
To me he is Coolmores ultimate sire, one of the worlds best pedigrees, wonderful conformation/temperment and great race record.
November 6, 2006 at 22:10 #30370I bet Jim Bolger’s glad he got in early!
