I put Sportsmaster up as a last throw of the dice for the Triumph but AP promptly rode him into the ground on his next start and that was the end of that plan. Quite surprised he has made the Festival at all after that but the blinkers are on tomorrow and the quicker should help. Not the most obvious winner given his mark but if by some miracle AP can get one to jump a clean round who knows?
March 13, 2012 at 23:56 #396462Soliwery is interesting.
March 14, 2012 at 01:29 #396479Not very original but Kazlian for me.

Sportsmaster is a horse who pulls hard. Blaming AP for your Triumph loss ("rode him in to the ground") is crazy. The horse wouldn’t settle.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2012 at 02:08 #396483Vendor looks to have plenty in hand on French form. If he acts on the ground should take all the beating.

It is no more crazy than your opinion – as per usual you just sit on a pedestal and assume your opinion is correct. AP failed to get the horse to settle which is what he is paid to do and he also rode the horse forward which effectively meant he had nothing left at the finish. The poor performance effectively ended any Triumph hopes – not quite the same as blaming AP for a bet, just a statement of fact. The assessment would not have been any different had I not backed the horse for the Triumph – you have predictably just gone for the pocket talking jibe – yawn.

I don’t "presume" my opinion is correct. But on this occasion it is you Stilvi who is (imo) presuming an awful lot.
Sportsmaster has been
free
in practically
every
race he’s run in this season. That
fact
is in the form book. Even the
best jockeys
find
some
hard pullers
imposssible
to settle. For you to
presume
to know the horse so well Stilvi, to know he could be
settled
… I find remarkable.
Usually when there is little pace in a race and fewer runners it is more difficult to settle a horse. Today could see improvement from Sportsmaster, with so many in the field it’s likely he’ll get a good pace and have a lot of horses to settle in behind.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2012 at 16:38 #396655I had a few quid on Gorgeous Sixty. Here’s hoping.
March 14, 2012 at 16:40 #396657Not very original but Kazlian for me.
After the performances of Grands Cru, Balgarry and Poole Master, I am wondering if there is something amiss with Pipes lot.
March 14, 2012 at 16:40 #396658Been a bad day…..going for Ardlui to get me out of it…I hope….2 mins to tapes up
March 14, 2012 at 16:58 #396662Henderson 4 timer, couldn’t see Une Artiste winning after folding tamely last time and presumably preferring it softer….King’s ‘banker’ ultimately well beaten. Poor race IMO.
March 14, 2012 at 17:00 #396663Kicking myself for not backing the winner.
Backed it last time each way at Kempton. Made a note "Une Artiste 4th seemed to have been looked after a bit too well, but suppose it’s “pocket talk”. Not that he’d have been in the first two. My fault, shouldn’t have backed one having its third run shortly after its second. With possible othertargets
ahead".

King’s banker was a fast finishing 3rd. Vendor got messed around alot in the mid stages, didn’t jump well and clearly needs further.
I do think King is a very good trainer, but some of his hurdlers are dreadful jumpers.Anyone think Scudamore rides Cheltenham poorly? It seems time and time again his horse rolls down the hill with them all on the stretch but seemingly never gets home. I swear he forgets there is a hill.
March 14, 2012 at 17:09 #396669Vendor probably didn’t act on the ground. Choc did exceptionally well to get my money back.
Think Scu has allowed Grands Crus’s disappointment to get to him. It’s happened to the best of them. AP and RW included.
Although it’s been an advantage to ride prominently this week, he’s overdone it more than once now.
That’s three Pipe horses today who’ve travelled like the best horse and not got home.
I’ll say this quietly, may be SBerry is right. There might be a minor virus or something.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2012 at 19:48 #396732Brilliant, picked her at the last second on a pure hunch; stable in form, racing weight…
Scudamore once again went for home far too soon; anyone can make a mistake, but two races, ones after another???March 14, 2012 at 20:01 #396735Henderson 4 timer, couldn’t see Une Artiste winning after folding tamely last time and presumably preferring it softer….King’s ‘banker’ ultimately well beaten. Two words; Jordi Cruyff
I didn’t back his mount btw.
