Has anyone heard anything regard Black Hercules.?
Is he still owed by Wylie and trained by Mullins etc, not ran since Jan 2017
I see on oddschecker he is quoted for this raceBlackbeard to conquer the World
November 25, 2019 at 00:27 #1475832Not heard anything Nath, but I had clocked those quotes myself.
The last two seasons there were definitely quotes that he was “back in”, but those came to nothing.
Always a ropey race to get involved in before the entries, as the market is usually full of horses who still have to qualify, or aren’t eligible (though I’m a wee bit ignorant of the full qualifying conditions)
Ps I’m still in shock at you starting a thread for The Foxhunter lol
November 25, 2019 at 11:18 #1475851Haha yeah, I was going to put a Black Hercules thread up on the main board but thought I’d kill two birds with one stone. At this stage with no sound bites Id want over 100/1 but just interested to see what might happen.
Black Hercules a big favourite of mine from when beating Lami Serge and Bristol De Mai all those years ago and both myself and brother had a fair lump on him and both shouting at Ruby on the TV to get him home.Blackbeard to conquer the World
December 23, 2019 at 22:14 #1477930Nath, Black Hercules out at Down Royal on Boxing Day, in The Bluegrass Hunters.
Cracking line up apart from Hercules, and as good a line up as you could hope for.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Edwulf, who looks to retain plenty of ability, and he’d be my #1 right now for this.
December 25, 2019 at 19:56 #1478054Thanks Vtc
I was just looking at it myself
I see Black Hercules ran 32 days ago in an Irish PTP so at least he has had a run since that long breakBlackbeard to conquer the World
December 27, 2019 at 00:27 #1478172Wee bit disappointed with Hercules today Nathan, but plenty of time for him to bounce back.
I was a lot happier with Edwulf though. A lot to work on, and I’m happy to see his price holding, but not willing to bet him just yet.
December 27, 2019 at 23:09 #1478281Does Edwulf qualify for Cheltenham?
December 28, 2019 at 02:05 #1478292Not yet Nenni. Think he has to win another Point, or finish second in a Hunter, but I do get mixed up with this race.
December 28, 2019 at 09:46 #1478312To be eligible a horse must have finished first or second twice in hunter chases, or have won two open point-to-point races, or have won one open point-to-point race and finished first or second in a hunter chase.
December 28, 2019 at 10:22 #1478317Struggling to find the conditions but I am sure I read somewhere that it was his third place in last year’s Red Mills that disqualified him.
December 28, 2019 at 10:34 #1478320Caryto Des Brosses and Wishing And Hoping my early picks.
Former finished second to last years winner and the latter is a relentless galloper who’s been spanking his rivals into submission on the PTP circuitDecember 28, 2019 at 12:32 #1478354Nenni, I was thinking of what he had to do to get in, rather than what was stopping him.
I thought it was first two in a Graded Chase, but I think you’re right about first three.
I’ll just put him back on my Cross Country list now.
December 29, 2019 at 15:28 #1478478Caid Du Berlais won a Grade 3 prior to his renewal but qualified via points.
You can’t run in a hunter chase to qualify if you’ve been placed in a Grade 1 or 2
December 31, 2019 at 05:56 #1478591Hazel Hill at 8s is very decent imo.
He has an excellent point record, won from the front last year in a race notoriously fast paced and suited to the late closers, came back to win at the track in April and clearly has one target.
8/1 – a good price if you ask me.
Hazel Hill @ 8/1
January 1, 2020 at 16:07 #1478689I had a nibble at the 16-1 about Don Poli , not a race I’ll get to involved in
January 7, 2020 at 15:43 #1479172Wishing And Hoping is an absolute weapon
Took 20/1 as he jumped the last.
Him and Hazel Hill will do me
January 7, 2020 at 17:13 #1479183Glad I was on early.
Won convincingly despite not being suited to the track.
