Rocking Reg
Im standing the criteria on its head somewhat here.
The only maiden in this line up.
The favourite under Ryan Moore has two course wins and this looks like a penalty kick but both of those wins were over 6f and leaves a few questions at the bare five furlongs.
Rocking Reg came up against a good one in his maiden who has gone in again and I think he’ll go well here.June 10, 2020 at 14:32 #1490326Still a maiden.

Navan
I’ve highlighted this one previously.
This looks a very tough debut for another stable in a big field against a Halford hot one amongst others.
Tongue strap applied.June 10, 2020 at 21:24 #1490343Acolyte and Rocking Reg
A total of 24 other runners and these two finished behind 23 of them. The only way ( I hope) is up!!!
June 10, 2020 at 22:17 #1490349Acolyte won in Maydan in January over 6furlongs under Harry Bentley for Saeed Bin Suroor then to Denis Hogan and then onto James McAuley. Before all that he was over here with Roger Charlton.
He was in touch today until the 2furlong pole.
A drop back towards the 70’s and six furlongs will see him in a better light.
So when the time is right…..June 17, 2020 at 19:29 #1491137Limerick 7.35
Thosedaysaregone
Last seen finishing third at the Cheltenham festival!
Now turns out in a flat maiden.
Could be this is a prep race for a long distance flat race in the autumn.interesting nonetheless.June 17, 2020 at 21:49 #1491152Was well worth a look and despite the drop in trip down to 1 mile 4f was held up before coming into contention for a place. Thosedaysaregone fought out a driving finish before pulling out of a place duel close home. Finished a close 4th.
The Stewards called in the jockey for an explanation….
“At the request of the Stewards, C.P. Hoban, rider of Thosedaysaregone, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards’ Secretaries that his mount got very tired close to the line and was unable to hold it’s position.”July 8, 2020 at 18:51 #1493230Lady in Lavender 655 Gowran Park.

July 10, 2020 at 11:58 #1493458Acolyte runs tonight at the Curragh in the 6.45 back at 6furlongs.
Looks a little competitive and should be a step on the road back to a lower mark.
7lb claimer on board though.July 10, 2020 at 13:21 #1493466The Tartan Spartan 5.25 Kilbeggan maiden hurdle
I have to put this warrior in!
He is a strikingly attractive horse who won Her Majesty ‘s Plate in July 17 at Down Royal over 1 mile 6.
This horse was sent away for slaughter as he had a tendon injury.
The owner of the bloodstock agency saw him entered for a race sometime later and took out an injunction to prevent him running claiming ownership.
The injunction was subsequently lifted when it was found a claim that the horses passport had been retained was found to be untrue.
When the horse went for slaughter, the passport went along too.
There are always two sides to every story but bottom line is that the horse evaded the knackerman’s bolt and runs again.
528 day break will need the run, but will be in the tracker for the future.
The reality is that they shoot horses dont they? This is a happy ending and when Tartan wins again with Lazarus comparisons in abundance, he will be in the news again.
Ironically when I googled this horse among the many images of the horse which appeared was one of him in the parade ring and the packed grandstand in the background was decked out in advertising hordings and everyone of them read LAZARUS.!!
July 10, 2020 at 18:31 #1493505The Tartan Spartan was a very pleasing fourth running in 3rd place for a long way. He was also gelded during his rehabilitation so will be bettet for this run today.
Next up at 6.45 is Acolyte
I’m going to back him each way its a big field and he is back to his prefered six furlongs. Still on a relatively high mark.
Ive had a small each way at 66/1
And a win bet on Sendnylove to you @ 14/1
A maiden winnrr here a tear ago.July 10, 2020 at 19:29 #1493516Acolyte prominent for someway before falling back. SP 80/1
Has the 6f run under the belt now and needs a few pounds off the assessor.
Sendmylovetoyou won his race on the standside half a length 2nd to Nordic passage.
Happy with that.
With The Tartan Spartan running so well off a long break, a pleasing day.July 12, 2020 at 16:33 #1493733Soaring Monarch 4.40 cork
A long way down the field in Tiger Moth’s maiden and popped up at a price on his next run.
An each way chance here.
