Sad news in a way, but good to hear that Flint River is retiring with a decent life to look forward to. I do hope the Firm are going to replace him ~ it’s been fun following him around the gaffs these last few years. More please!
January 24, 2007 at 18:21 #36551What can i say
If only more horses were like him and run like him, what a great sport racing would be
A long and happy retirement Flint
January 24, 2007 at 18:53 #36552Good to hear he’ll be found a good home, thought he was far from disgraced today.
Here he is before running at Brighton last year when partnered by Travis Block
January 24, 2007 at 18:59 #36553Would just echo earlier statements made by previous contributors on the thread. I must admit, I feared the worst when I saw a thread started in his honour so I’m glad he retires in one piece.
You sure there’s not a winning swansong left in him over 7f at Southwell from a mark of 57? :cheesy:
January 24, 2007 at 19:03 #36554Any ideas what the new home will be TDK?
January 24, 2007 at 19:40 #36555I’ve enjoyed following his progress on here & on the track, so can guess how much pleaseure he’s given you as owners.
Here’s to a long & healthy retirement for him
January 24, 2007 at 19:43 #36556Very good, if only more owners took as much care after the racing side is over.

I think that the vast majority of owners do to be fair.

Do you really think that?
January 24, 2007 at 21:30 #36559All the best with finding a good home for Flint River TDK – good to hear he’s retiring safe & sound.
January 24, 2007 at 22:04 #36560A good horse.
Nice to hear he’s going to a good home and retiring sound.
January 25, 2007 at 09:42 #36561A cracking horse over the years and although it is a shame you couldn’t tease one more win out of him, that defeat of Mufreh won’t be forgotten in a hurry :)
January 25, 2007 at 13:40 #36562It must have been great to be involved with such a consistent and successful horse. Good luck for his retirement.
January 25, 2007 at 16:06 #36563I’m not a big fan of the flat, but I always had a soft spot for Flint River. May he have a long & happy retirement.
January 25, 2007 at 16:50 #36564Just had a glance at his career stats:
The phrase ‘tough and consistent’ springs to mind
Must have been a pleasure to own and I wish him well in retirement
