March 19, 2007 at 00:45 #47436I’ll stick my neck out then:
Sander Camillo WILL win the 1000 Guineas.
As DJ says, there is nothing to suggest she won’t stay a mile. My biggest worry is actually the ground, because if it on the soft side she won’t even turn up.
"I can’t believe Finsceal Beo isn’t 7/4 at best."
But is that because her more recent runs stick more vividly in the imagination? If Sander Camillo had run at the end of the season and won convincingly I don’t think such statements would be made. I think she is an unbelievable filly tbh, and will give Finsceal Beo a good spanking. But then again opinions are like you know whats, everyone has one!
No its because on my ratings I’ve got her way ahead of everything else and a couple of pounds ahead of Sander Camillo. Her rating is high for a two year old filly so I think it’ll take something very good to beat her if she’s the same filly as last year.

March 21, 2007 at 16:35 #47441Perhaps Measured tempo, despite only a maiden success, may provide Godolphin with a love chance in the 1000 Guineas?
Think Oaks most likely at this stage.

March 22, 2007 at 22:21 #47443Eeek I’m sure someone agress with me because Sander Camillo I am convinced was 5/1 earler this week – 7/2 now and 4.4 on the exchanges.
Flash you gotta go with your ratings – I understand that, but I just hope the ground is Good or better and we can find out once and for all.
March 23, 2007 at 00:01 #47444Passage Of Time is the one I’m interested in, come on Henry!
As for Dutch Art and Sander Camillo, I’m pretty confident that neither will get a mile.
While on pedigree Dutch Art might seem able to get the trip, his physical appearance and racing style suggest very strongly that sprinting will be his game, and very good he’ll be at it as well.
Sander Camillo’s sire, Dixie Union, stayed a mile under U.S. dirt conditions, but he’s a magnificant sprint type, and gets fast horses (he’s made a good start to his stud career). It also seems to be mainly speed on the dam’s side.
Both horses have been backed in. Sander Camillo is now generally 3/1 from 9/2 and Finsceal Beo is a best priced 7/2 where she was 4/1 in places earlier in the week.
Take one out and the race at this stage looks a penalty kick for the other.
I agree FSL lets hope the ground isn’t soft. The excitement, the anticipation is why we all love this sport.
Lets get decent ground and lets get it on. :nailbiting:

March 23, 2007 at 11:57 #47447Just to note that DJ was right on the money
"Michael Jarvis is unsure whether unlucky Derby fourth Hala Bek will be returning to his Kremlin House Stables in Newmarket.
The twice-raced colt performed an untimely jink to his right barely 100 yards from the line, then was absent from the Irish Derby with a throat infection and missed the remainder of the campaign through injury.
“The horse is still convalescing after his injury as he had a leg problem after the Derby which ruled him out for the rest of the year," said Jarvis.
"It was quite a serious injury. He isn’t with me at the moment and he is recuperating at one of the Darley Stables. I don’t really know if he’ll come back in to training with me or whoever but he would certainly be an exciting horse if he became fit again," he told At The Races."

March 23, 2007 at 12:35 #47448Haatef – Kevin Predergast. His run in the Dewhurst suggests he has plenty of improvement in him…

He got 9f in sensational style there last year. He has another year on his back now and I can’t see it being a problem.
March 23, 2007 at 17:40 #47450Im really looking forward to this season more thanany over the last 10yrs .I have a feeling this is going to be a vintage yr for the classic crop, and with some good older horse on the scene it should make for a good 2007 season

Great match up this , Discreet Cat’s speed against Invasor’s stouteness.
If DC gets involved in suicidal fractions and the race turns into a war, he could well have a problem, imo.
March 23, 2007 at 20:13 #47452Im looking forward mostly to the last flat winner of the season….then we can all go back to NH racing. ;)
Actually Im interested in seeing how Hala bek and Sir Percy do this year.

I’m also looking forward to Sir Percy; firstly to prove he is a better Derby winner than many have given him credit for, and also to show the knockers that he will stay 12f well at the top level.
Hopefully, he will be well enough to set the ball rolling next Saturday.
