Over the years I have found myself gravitating to backing 2 runners in the same race when there is a potential for a profit, albeit often having to compromise on the returns. Backing 2 does protect against the long losing run and in my case losing confidence in the ratings. I realise that this type of betting is not for everyone, but hey, its horses for courses.Interesting good grade handicap on TV from 2.40pm York Friday.
Both La Trinidad and Danzan are up to the expected rating of 100 for this race. If the odds allow I shall be having an interest in both.
Saturday’s Cambrigeshire with no less than 34 runners. Astro King has been crying out for a major prize and its certainly not an original selection.
Ascot’s weather today could prove to be decisive, and Dream Composer although running poorly of late must be given a second chance having a liking for the track and heavy conditions. Represents good odds at 12/1 – at the mo thats 6am !
I don’t post horses here often but believe we could have a very interesting sprint contender for Meydan depending I think on his run tomorrow.The Oakman Group Rous Stakes at Ascot is quite strong for it’s Listed status however for MINZAAL it marks a return to the track following a year off.I wouldn’t advise a bet on this occasion with this colt being untried on the going,which to me will be against him,but the drop to the minimum trip is worth exploring as he did in my opinion run quite freely at times so maybe what he needs?
Won the Gimcrack & placed in the Middle Park as a juvenile this colt definitely has potential and hope he lives up to the billing I’m giving him.

It does seem foolish to ignore the form that is way above this handicap expectations. A rating of 100 is way above the expected rating of 86 based on past outcomes.
In the 3.50 which is a more expensive handicap Mahajaan is the choice although not coming up to the expected rating of 160.
Joconde ran awful after being held up…but Climate was an unlucky frustrating 5th and she can win in this class
La Joconde runs in the big Group 1 tomorrow [2.35], but is probably there to set up the race for Snowfall
But has risked a little each way bet @ 28-1 just in case….
Unlucky GB, she’s given you some good spins at big prices this year though.

Stupidly didn’t bet him today, and he won in very good style. 5yo, so limited where they go now, but I’ll definitely be keeping tracks next year if he’s back.
