Looks like his injury was pretty serious.
All the best for a speedy recovery Mick and please retire now.
April 7, 2008 at 10:07 #156623Yes – sadly this looks like the end of the road for Mick – let’s just hope he makes a full recovery from this horrible injury.
April 7, 2008 at 10:08 #156624Get well soon Mick Fitz.
April 7, 2008 at 10:13 #156627God help him- he won’t be allowed ride again, even if he wanted to. Lets hope he’s not left with any significant restriction in normal activity. He’ll have a good media career to look forward to anyway- no shortage of opinion from our Mick!
April 7, 2008 at 10:17 #156628Why use one word when a million will do.
April 7, 2008 at 10:26 #156631Hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
All the best, Mick.
April 7, 2008 at 10:48 #156637Was hoping that it wasn’t too serious..hope he makes a good recovery.
April 7, 2008 at 12:02 #156656I hope this doesn’t tempt him into retirement he is still one of the best around
April 7, 2008 at 15:55 #156691Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
April 7, 2008 at 19:00 #156723Best wishes Mick.
April 7, 2008 at 19:55 #156740If anyone’s reading this who knows him, pass on our best wishes. One of the best, it’ll be sad if we’ve seen the last of him on a race course.
Good luck to him!
April 7, 2008 at 22:25 #156785Get well soon and please think about a retirement with a farm and a couple of pointers…
April 8, 2008 at 08:17 #156821Micko will be a top trainer or trainer’s assistant, imo.
He does a lot of work behind the scenes. A dedicated guy.
This broken neck is bad news.
April 8, 2008 at 11:57 #156858Get well soon Mick.
Sadly looks as though we’ve seen the last of him in a race, due to the severity of the injury and the fact that he has two young children to think about now. He’ll make a great pundit, but the romantic/selfish part of me would love to see him go out on one last winner.
April 8, 2008 at 16:11 #156911Yes, I would have like that too, Friggo. I like the guy and I like his stable (NH).
No place for sentimentality in this game though, I suppose.
He’s come back from some terrible knocks before, but this one looks bad.
