Surely the best quoted price of 15/8 – and even 13/8 – is near enough to daylight robbery?
The only horse in the race with the proven goods at the highest level.
I guess one would prefer to see firmer ground than what shall be given today, but it’s nowhere near bottomless.

You’re right – it should be at least 3’s.
June 28, 2008 at 06:21 #170450I managed to get over 2/1 on Betfair thought that was a ridiculously good price given her form in relation to the others. Stoute’s filly is the obvious danger but you’d have to expect Finsceal Beo to be tought to beat.
June 28, 2008 at 09:46 #170473I’m with Reet- don’t think she really stays 10f and she’s had plenty of hard races- Mr Stoute for me at Laddies generous 5/2.
June 28, 2008 at 09:59 #170478I think Promising Lead is a good thing for this race. Finsceal – hard race last week, beaten by PL last time they met and recent rain against her.

Emma Spencer put it up as her Charity Bet. She normally has good info from the Stoute yard.
I’ve had a couple of quid e/w on Anna Pavlova at 10’s. Laddies ducking it.June 28, 2008 at 12:03 #170511Agreed, Promising Lead all the way, anything above 2/1 is value. The Irish 1000 form looks poor but will to be interesting to see how the improving Mad About You gets on stepped up in trip, which should suit.
June 28, 2008 at 12:36 #170521Marjalina e/w, likes the cut was very impressive on seasonal debut, looked to be crying out for this trip, was apparently in season last time out, and worth another go at a decent price.
June 28, 2008 at 12:38 #170522I think Sail is overpriced at 14’s. Never really though she would handle Epsom and being by Sadler’s Wells the ease in the ground shouldn’t inconvenience her. I’d imagine Ice Queen will set a strong pace and this may fing out FB over the trip.
June 28, 2008 at 12:59 #170528Promising Lead for me – though the ground is a slight concern.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
June 28, 2008 at 13:33 #170534Everything has been on the slide bar Sail.
June 28, 2008 at 15:48 #170559Good work Promising Lead backers. You can’t have laid a penny on that did you TDK?
June 28, 2008 at 15:51 #170561Did our best not to DJ.
Shocking campaigning from Jim Bolger there. When is he going to learn his lesson with this beast?
June 28, 2008 at 15:51 #170562Having backed Finsceal Beo yesterday I laid her today as she was drifting alarmingly. Ended up even so nothing lost or gained.
Good performance by Promising Lead but Finsceal Beo – terrible.

Sorry DJ didn’t mean to upset you. Was more making the point that the drift was alarming enough to ring warning bells rather than discuss financial matter, just sort of went hand in hand.
June 28, 2008 at 16:40 #170576I didnt back sail today, but was shocked by Murtaghs tactics on her.
They clearly sent Ice Queen out to set a fast pace for everyone else to follow, but the most important thing is that no-one actually followed Ice Queen’s gallop and Murtagh (who must have seen that things werent going to plan ahead of him) still sat way of the pace. I dont think Sail would have won, but by not adapting to the race he has certainly cost her several places and the filly has gained nothing from the run.
IMO Murtagh has put in some shocking rides on the coolmore fillies this year so far this season.
