Connections have already said that this is Honeysuckle’s last season on the racecourse.
If she goes unbeaten until Cheltenham and then they decide to dodge a clash with Constitution Hill, connections will deserve infinitely more vitriol than that doled out to Henderson last week.
November 26, 2022 at 21:45 #1624765Would it affect Honeysuckle’s value as a brood-mare (retiring with one loss vs unbeaten)? C Hill should really be entered for the Irish C Hurdle at Leopardstown and then connections would have no excuses. In retrospect, Nick should have entered CH for last year’s Punchestown C Hurdle.

November 27, 2022 at 00:49 #1624780And unlike geldings, a mare still has commercial value; how much would Facile Vega cost? If there is any risk, her owners might make the smart call, esp as she is 8 yrs old and probably past her peak
November 27, 2022 at 07:21 #1624795Having won the race with ease, I really hope he returns to defend his crown next year. I’ve never seen a crowd so deep around the parade ring and winners enclosure both before and after the race. The draw of Constitution Hill.
