It is about time, the BHA introduced new going descriptions, to cover the desperate going conditions normally found at FFos Las.
The official going yesterday was given out as heavy, when I worked out the going allowance for FFos Las yesterday, which I had at -1.77s/f, as normal it went off my scale.
Turf going allowance table:
Firm +0.55s/f to +0.63s/f
Good/firm +0.20s/f to +0.53s/f
Good -0.25s/f to +0.18s/f
Good/soft -0.55s/f to -0.28s/f
Soft -1.00s/f to -0.58s/f
Heavy -1.58s/f to -1.03s/fThe French have several extra going descriptions we could use:
lourd a tres lourd = heavy to very heavy
tres lourd = very heavy
profound = deepI am in no doubt that the drainage system stopped working a long time ago, and FFos Las still holds my personnel going allowance record at -2.75s/f (deep) <!– s:shock: –>

November 8, 2015 at 17:37 #1220765Ffos Las continues to be a joke, they should not let racing take place there.
It was bad enough having to add 121yds to race 5, the last few races I had the going allowance at -1.86s/f (very heavy).
Horse racing is linear, but it doesn’t apply to Ffos Las, I will have to come up with an algorithm to help solve the standard times nightmare.

Not Really…
The BHA spent time, effort and money remeasuring the national hunt racecourses, and now have situations like at the last two meetings at Fakenham, where they have not run within a hundred yards of the advertised distances.
