Lost lone wolf i.d due to trf transition or whatever, so it’s muggins here. I backed zawraq for the derby. There isn’t alot to go on, though he looks quite useful, and in what doesn’t look like a vintage renewal – very few do -, i think this fella ought to be there or there abouts.

Nice to see you back Lone Wolf, stick your old avatar back on and we’ll all know you at a glance.
Zawraq is probably the most realistic danger to the fav, despite his lack of solid form so far. He has the potential but I’d like to have seen him with another run to advertise his claims better.
He could be anything but even at a third of the odds I’d still rather back Golden Horn, who’s ticked a lot more of those cliched boxes we keep hearing about.

Thanks steve. Golden horn is the one to beat i agree, but i prefer something at a better price. The pros are that weld and smullen saw this as a horse with a big future since last year, despite knowing that ballydoyle could have had a good derby horse in there somewhere. The negative could be that his prep may be more of an indication of them avoiding gleneagles. I guess we will see what the score is soon enough. I’m not overly confident, but i like to think this derby is up for grabs, because in my mind he doesn’t have a great deal to find.
