Racings quack, Dr Turner has today told Noel Fehily that he wont be allowed to ride untill after the weekend.

Thanks a bunch Dr Turner :( , surely with no concussion/head injury, no fracture/break, its down to the jockey when hes fit enough to return? Mr Nicholls certainly seems to think he was fit enough this morning when riding out for him.

Yes I am thinking through my pocket :D

Sam Thomas now on Al Ferof

    AP McCoy on Masterminded

    Daryl Jacob on Silviniaco Conti

& on my ante post plunge Robinson Collonges… Now Harry Skelton.

Please please Mr Nicholls have a change of heart & stick Thomas up, He has no booked ride in the race, come to think of it neither has Jacob, why oh why Harry Skelton?

A novice in a big field handicap, yes he won on him first time over fences in a novice chase & that’s obviously why he has been given the ride.

Talking from my pocket though, I’m damn sure Id much rather one of the other two riding Saturday.

Supersilver’s account was nearer the truth at the time of writing, Fist. Events have superseded that post since then, but only to the extent that Noel Fehily may be able to ride now rather than definitely will.

    Per the

    Post

    website, article published 2-3 hours after the original poster here;

‘"NOEL FEHILY could now regain the high-profile Cheltenham rides he lost earlier on Thursday after the BHA agreed in principle to let Paul Nicholls’ supersub make a rapid return from injury at Cheltenham on Friday.

Fehily, who had been booked to partner odds-on favourite Master Minded in Saturday’s Keith Prowse Hospitality Tingle Creek Chase, schooled his intended William Hill King George VI Chase mount Kauto Star on Thursday morning but was then told by the BHA’s chief medical officer Dr Michael Turner that he would not be permitted to compete at Cheltenham.

Turner made his decision due to Fehily’s desire toride with the aid of a splint that contravenes BHA rules, but a strapping designed by doctor and amateur rider Philip Pritchard could now allow the jockey – who injured his wrist in a Newbury fall two weeks ago – to take a host of high-profile mounts at the Cheltenham fixture.

Fehily, who must obtain clearance from Cheltenham’s racecourse doctor, told racingpost.com: "It’s been a stressful 24 hours, but it’s all systems go and I’m now raring to return.

"If I didn’t feel ready, I wouldn’t risk making a mess of riding Master Minded. My hand is strong, I’ve got a good grip and I felta million dollars riding Kauto this morning.

"I’ve spoken to Paul Nicholls, who is going to tell me what I can ride, but the plan is definitely to return at Cheltenham on Friday."

Nicholls said: "If Noel is passed by the racecourse doctor he will ride Al Ferof on Friday. I am not going to make any decisions about Saturday until the morning."

BHA head of communications Paul Struthers said: "Dr Turner spoke to Noel Fehily’s specialist this morning, who confirmed that Noel would be able to resume riding but only whilst wearing a protective case. This is not compliant with our published Medical Standards for Fitness to Ride and Noel was therefore informed that, unfortunately, he could not be cleared to ride.

"Having discussed the matter further with the PJA and with Noel, Dr Turner arranged for him to see a second specialist this afternoon. That specialist’s view was that if the wrist was properly strapped it would be fine and would not negatively impact on Noel’s control of a horse.

"Following that news, Dr Turner spoke to Noel’s original specialist, and they agreed this to be a suitable course of action which ensures Noel was compliant with our Medical Standards.

"As Dr Turner has not examined Noel himself, Noel will still have to be cleared by the racecourse medical officer in order to have his Red Entry removed and to satisfy the requirements of the Professional Riders’ Insurance Scheme."’

Well I for one am over the moon that my earlier post looks like its been turned on its head now.

Ive got a fair old whack on the horse I mentioned.

Selfish I know, but young Harry will get plenty of chances.

Hope Noel does make it, & it looks likely now going on whats been said later today.

Very best of luck with all that. Noel’s looked to the manner born on the Nicholls horses these last few weeks, hasn’t he, and I suspect there’ll be others besides yourself thrilled if he passes the doctor for all the same reasons. No news from the track as yet.
