    Who’s the annoying commentator?

I don’t know, but he was so excited about the 8/11 fav Ballyrashane winning the 4-runner chase I thought it was a Championship race.

It was better when Fakenham was on SSR. RTV treat it like an inconvenience today.

Patronising remarks by Nick Luck at the start of the show about “I’m sure you can’t wait for the 1.10 at Fakenham” must make them wonder why they bothered switching.

Don’t kid yourself, SSR would be no different if they were broadcasting a big meeting.

If any UK race happens to clash with a Hong Kong race it will be split screen coverage on SSR, that’s the reality. Not what I would consider acceptable.

It’s no coincidence that 21 of the 29 independent racecourses are signed to RTV.

....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.

I recognise that – I recall SSR giving priority to a race in Hong Kong instead of a race at Hexham quite recently. But taking today in isolation, Fakenham was covered better by SSR.

It would have been better coverage today, but the racecourse would have to take a balanced view on coverage of all their meetings throughout the year, although that would not be the sole consideration.

The situation will be reversed during Royal Ascot, with Worcester (Wednesday) and Ripon (Thursday) getting minimal air time on SSR.

You will of course get extreme opinions from some that these meeings should be hidden away behind a red button completely, as they spoil their enjoyment of the important meetings.

....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.

Alex Furey was the commentator, a fairly new addition to the roster.

What was the issue with him Mike?

I only saw the last race which had a cracking finish and Alex became suitably excited which is what you want from the man with the Mike.

I’d sack him before he got too comfortable in his new job. ;o)

Bad day for the Irish at Fakenham today – in fact, I think they’ve given up on trying to compete at this fixture.

What a shocking race that was ……. every one of them should be a 33/1 shot ……. stick a pin in for a favourite

I thought the second would win ……..
