Oh no! Just read this on the RP website… Along with the name I use as my login, these were my two very favourite horses, and I can’t believe he has fallen victim to colic. He was a bold front runner in his youth and a real stayer later on – the win in the Pertemps qualifier this year was something special. And he made me plenty of (place) money at Cheltenham over the years.
One of those ‘heart sinks to the ground on reading’ moments. Seemed to have been around forever, and saw him several times;beautiful little horse. RIP Fair Along; we’ll never forget you.
How very sad One of my favourite horses. Always gave his all, and seems to have been around forever. So had he won’t enjoy a long, happy retirement. His connections must be gutted.
Really sad to see the end of one of my biggest favourites. Saw him win an early season juvenile at Bangor by miles for John Flint and followed him ever since. A horse that was very much in the black for me as I did catch his wins. Game as a pebble and all heart.
Such a lovely horse could watch him all day long..so long old friend.
Colic is such a dreadful illness and even the bravest are taken..but our memories remain..RIP Fair Along
