I’m actually feeling really guilty about posting this up because I had also backed Time Out in the 13:40 and wasn’t expecting anything there so was going to plough into this one. However as Time Out placed (33/1) I didn’t actually back this so apologies. That’s 10pts lost in 2 posts :(
January 19, 2007 at 10:51 #6202813:10M 2pts ew King Daniel @ 4/1
Then again maybe not, i’d keep my eye on that one though ;)
Well done with King Daniel FSL
January 19, 2007 at 13:37 #62032I can’t brag about typing up a net loser EW (-0.4pts) though tipping it up at Sp wouldn’t of been so stupid.
I am upset about the first race at Musselbrough though – guess which horse I nearly tipped up?
January 19, 2007 at 17:22 #62034Double landed FSL
January 19, 2007 at 17:24 #62035I didn’t see the race; was it hammered or did it get close? TY EW
-0.4pts + 1.8pts = Profit 1.4pts
January 19, 2007 at 22:09 #62036Dunno FSL, just saw result on screen
January 19, 2007 at 22:13 #62037hammered – they were strung out like traffic wardens on national bicycle day
January 24, 2007 at 13:16 #620381:40C – Faasel was 30lb better over hurdles than this lot is over fences and really ought to win this hard held. Having said that its form figures of 82255 don’t inspire confidence and the Even money odds look about right. The best e/w value for me in this race is Kentucky Blue who has had a couple of runs in chases to get its eye in so to speak (better was expected last time than delivered perhaps) and based on its hurdle rating has plenty of scope to improve over fences. COnditions should suit and I will be very disappointed if it doesn”t make the first 3.
1pt ew Kentucky Blue @ 8/1 (generally)
January 24, 2007 at 13:28 #62039The fav is a shade of odds-against but it qualifies anyway. From lays and plays:
2:30 Huntingdon
"held up, headway 3 out, kept on under pressure run-in"
"held up in mid-division, headway after 6th, soon ridden, ran on flat"
"prominent, pushes along approaching 4 out, outpaced before 3 out, kept on one pace after"
These are the last three comments in running for a horse running over 16f (Soft, Soft, Gd/Sft) on all 3 starts. My conclusion is it needs further. Well thats good because it steps up to 21f today on Soft ground. Could they be overdoing it? Maybe but it could be well handicapped over a distance that it should improve for.
2:30H 1pt ew Hot Lips Page 11/1 (Ladbrokes – they think it will sink which aint good news but its worth chancing imo.
January 24, 2007 at 13:55 #620405th Dammit. I thought that favourite was too good to be true, but it duly obliged and "really did win this hard held" :o

The first 5 in the betting look sure to be fill the first 3 spaces with the possible exception of Carlitos (50/1). Its just a question of whether i go for experiences runners are likely improvers and I’m rooting for an improver. Your Amount and Piano Player are both separated by 1lb in the RPR and are both 16/1. Of course they could drift but they could also go off at single figures too. Its almost a given I will pick the wrong one but Your Amount looks liklier to handle heavy ground, has a more accomplished jockey on board and has an entry in a G2 race.
1pt ew Your Amount @ 16/1 (generally)

The easy pick is The Speaker with the two concerns being the trip and the obstacles but form wise from bumpers is booked for 3rd at the very least.
1pt ew The Speaker 12/1
