I see that William Hill have this priced up, but I haven’t seen any confirmation of entries

I will bet The Galloping Bear and History of Fashion ap, but only if they don’t run in upcoming targets.

    Both will be free bets

    Entries released now……

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/vertem-eider-handicap-chase/winner

My record in this brutal, but having drawn up an early shortlist, namely…..

    Achille
    Court Master
    Domaine De L’Isle
    Hear No Evil

…I’ve decided to pick one and stick with it. I bet Crixus’s Escape a couple of runs back, and he was terrible, but a bit more encouraging last time. I’d love to see Brian Hughes get the ride.

Token gesture bet at this time, and I reckon I could probably beat the 50’s in the next fortnight, but he’s my early Antepost here.

I had initially bet Achille for Haydock, but I’ve cashed that out, as this could easily be at target too. He’d be high on the shortlist if he came here.

    Crixus’s Escape 50’s (cashed out)

No option but to cash out just now with Crixus’s Escape running today at Wetherby.

I’ll still bet him if he goes, but a lot to happen before then, and it’s the right move for me, even if he wins tomorrow, and gets slashed.

Domaine De L’Isle increasingly looking like my bet here now, but at 10’s, I can at least wait until Monday.

Rose Dobbin’s Rath an Iuir is entered, someone on here had hope for him a while back, still lightly raced but ran stink at Ayr the last time. Anthony Honeyball’s Sam Brown is another (fragile) lightly raced horse has been running well in defeat but they’re not exactly a punting stable so their horses just always seem to run to their form/credit/ability so probably will be placed again.

I’ve bet Supreme Escape at 14-1. I will get another once the full field is known, and I think that it might be Big Nasty. I did think about betting him right now at 33-1

Hear No Evil is an interesting contender here, and I’ve taken 20/1.

I liked his win at Ayr ahead of Empire Steel, so I’m now just needing him to make it there

Lake view lad is knocking on but he,s ran to a different level to most of these , like Bobby I’m a fan of Domain De L,isle , he,s got some good lines of form and Curran does well with his small string , still remember the silence when iris de balme won the Scot nat at 66s

Going to take a flyer on Rath An Luir.

Formerly looked very promising before clearly having a setback that ruled him out for over a year. He’s very lightly raced, and has beaten the likes of Alnadam and Passageway(died after looking a top bumper horse). Rath has won at Newcastle and has had what i hope was a pipe opener in January. Dropped 4lb for that he’s off 131 which is a very attractive mark if he retains his ability.

That run when 5th of 5 well beaten does look worrying considering his layoff, however, it’s worth noting that Rose Dobbin seen it necessary to write a blog on their runners in December+January. They had been in fine form up to that point but found a seasonal bug, and lots were scoping badly. They also found lots with Ulcers. Now, there is nothing mentioned about my selection in particular, but he’s come back from 399days off when the yard form had dropped off a cliff. So there’s definitely scope there to suggest he’ll bounce back. Worth noting their runners in February are much more like it 10 runners, 1 winner and 4 seconds.

Achille ran quite decent in the Welsh National, despite missing the start badly. His Warwick run was poor though. He dropped down in the weights and I’m willing to give him another chance at a big price.

Definitely going with Domaine De L’Isle here as planned, and happy with 11’s.

Almost certainly sticking with Achille as well as the backup, and he’s got a live chance here at his best, and he’s well down the weights.

The problem with that approach is that also applies to Lake View Lad who I’ve put up a few times this year. On recent form no chance, but he’s dropped a fair old way in a short time, and just a question of whether they’re merely getting him ready for Ayr.

    Achille and/or Lake View Lad

    Domaine De L’Isle 11’s

Domain helped by the claimer and is back on a winning mark , Curran nows the time of day and he,s a good horse on his day , I’m just as keen on lake view lad , Bobby has raised the it maybe a Scot nat prep , with the risk of good ground I’m more inclined today maybe the day , he,s down to 142 and he,s 3rd behind Blacklion off 150 would make him competitive , yard had a double during the week and they’re def one to follow when in form

    Inc rev f/c

    Domain de,isle win

    Lake view lad e.w

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
