On first glance, I thought Truckers Lodge looked very big at 10’s, and he’s probably my main fancy at the moment. I haven’t bet him yet, as I can’t possibly bet two in this Antepost, but given a chance by the handicapper, I think his odds are more than fair.
The one I have bet is The Ferry Master. The problem with following a yard, is that you end up betting theirs sometimes for the sake of it, and seeing an angle, when there’s not really one there. That could certainly be the case here, but at the odds, he’s worth another chance.
There’s no doubt he’s been out of sorts this year, but I do think he’s better than that, and I have to put some faith in Sandy Thomson that he can get him back. He’s also got Flower of Scotland and Doyen Breed in there, and the plan at the moment is for some sort of interest in running.
Truckers Lodge looks the more sensible, but at 25’s, and a fair chance he could get backed in a good few points, The Ferry Master is the bet from an in form yard
The Ferry Master 25’s
February 1, 2023 at 05:26 #1633190He,s getting nicely handicapped , where Mania goes should keep us right , if he,s not on here then it,’ll be the Scot Nat , +£37.19 to a pound this season , also Empire Steel entered at Sandown on Sat ….he likes Sandown does Sandy

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 3, 2023 at 16:06 #1633513Have to go for Flower Of Scotland 6/1 who was value for a lot more than the 8lbs she got raised after cruising to victory in the Borders National at Kelso. I don’t think the quicker ground should be a problem as she is a strong stayer and jumper.
Captain Cattistock 15/2 won this last year and his form off a slightly elevated mark this term suggests he will not be far away again.
February 3, 2023 at 19:58 #1633546Midnight Thunder is a very big price to repeat the win of two years ago. His last races were quite poor, but I think this level will suit him more. Great price to find out anyway. Also added Truckers Lodge, who dropped in the weights and 4 miles should be his thing.
Midnight Thunder 33/1 EW
Truckers Lodge 8/1February 3, 2023 at 22:19 #1633574Truckers Lodge 8-1, and Regina Dracones 20-1 are my selections.
DBRDBR, good luck with Mighty Thunder, I hope they can get him back, and he’s a lovely price if they can. I’ve got a real soft spot for that horse
February 4, 2023 at 10:39 #1633678Two bets for me here with Captain Cattistock and Doyen Breed.
February 4, 2023 at 11:16 #1633687I cant back all 3 so gone with Doyen Breed and The Ferry Master e.w , I just wonder if Anderson greens horse will be primed again for the Scot Nat , I’m expecting a big run from Doyen , Thunder is one I’ve been keeping an eye on but I’m but sure he turned a corner yet
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 4, 2023 at 12:29 #1633728Truckers Lodge ew 4 places
February 4, 2023 at 13:43 #1633766Couldnt make my mind up about 3 or 4 of ’em at the top of the betting market, so i’ve unashamedly plumped for Red Hot VTC’s pick of The Ferry Master. 365 free bet.
Apologies VTC as i’ve prob jinxed it now
.February 4, 2023 at 14:01 #1633774Jesus The Ferry Master in to 11s , I was expecting 16s plus
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 4, 2023 at 14:13 #1633784If Ayr is the goal then that was nice run by Flower of Scotland

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 4, 2023 at 22:30 #1633904I got the race pretty well right…, apart from the winner! Bits and pieces of decent form, but at a lower level and was up significantly in distance.
Flower Of Scotland a tad outpaced on quicker ground than at Kelso. Stayed on for third and will be very interwsting if the ground cones up soft at Ayr in April.
Sad to see Mighty Thunder struggling again and retirement surely beckons?
