Soumillon got 12 days for celebrating right after the finish and allowing his horse to bump the runner-up who in turn bumped into Lord North.
Without taking anything away from the winner, I have to say that Mishriff’s final 120-150 yards were phenomenal, especially in a G1 race.
Gosden fired two bullets at a G1 race and came up short. I doubt he’ll be having the same talk with David Egan as he did with Frankie. One day he might end up with no stable jockey, if he asks all of them to take sabbaticals. Nevertheless it was an open and thrilling G1 race and quite often there is a hard luck story to it.

It looked it, but on the other hand the jockey of the winner thought he was gonna get beat when the horse stumbled, so the winning distance may have been bigger if he hadn’t.

July 4, 2022 at 22:40 #1605286Looking back on the Sandown card the ground looks bordering on firm.
Value Is EverythingJuly 4, 2022 at 22:45 #1605287With OR 89 Arjoob 0.83 seconds fast for 1m2f I can see why you would say that.
Say he’s run to 95 to win it, that means if the Eclipse had been run at the strongest possible overall pace, Vadeni would have a good few seconds quicker instead of just over a second.
