    2 for today:

In the Ebor Heritage Handicap I won’t let G3 winner Peppertree Lane go off at 20-1, that’s for sure!
In the Darley Yorkshire Oaks the value play is Allegretto at 11-1. Has won 3 G2 races and the Stoute – Moore combo is always dangerous.

    Good luck!

Some very good racing at York today but it looks a difficult day to find winners and I do not have a lot of confidence.

The Ebor at 2:35 is always one of the best hcaps of the year.
Peppertree Lane looks hcap’d to his limit imo and may be better on soft going. Scriptwriter was impressive last time but I am doubtful regarding the form of that race. Purple Moon is a hcap good thing on paper and could win but his best form has come on faster ground. Tranquil Tiger does not look that well hcap’d imo and I’m going for Wing Collar who loves the York track and has been lightly raced this season and comes here in good form. Looks e/w value at 20’s imo.

The Yorkshire Oaks at 3:10 should go to Peeping Fawn who looks an improving type but is not a bet for me at 4/7.

The opening race at 1:30 is another very open looking hcap. W.Haggas is a very good trainer and could produce Heaven Knows to win this after a long lay off but is no value imo at odds of about 7/2. My choice is River Tiber who ran well to finish 4th in the Totesport Mile and should have a decent chance from stall one over this extra distance – just hope Jamie Spencer does not overdo the waiting tactics as York can be a difficult track to ride a winner from off the pace. M. Stoute’s horses are in good form and a covering bet on Greek Well may be best as Kerin McEvoy has a good record when riding this horse.

    Good luck to all.
