Just had a quick look through this tomorrow and was surprised to see fakir bet into around 6/5, still getting the weight for age allowance and as much as he was impressive against melon, the former has been on a downward curve for a while, up in trip, ill be laying him at this price for certain!
Samcro also another at around 13/8 ill be laying, didnt like the reappearence, expected more from dortmund park that day, not sure if he will be upto this and hes not a horse you can back in a grade 1 at these odds until hes done it once atleast.
Will be throwing a few £ at ronald pump @7/1
November 30, 2019 at 19:37 #1476260One to enjoy for me Ham, but very interested to see how Burrows Saint gets on. Hard to bet him here over this trip, but he’s a nice horse.
November 30, 2019 at 21:05 #1476266I’d be disappointed if samcro didnt win this
Thought he jumped really well on chase debut and will take high order in the novice chasing division this season
November 30, 2019 at 21:44 #1476268I have a slightly different view to FF in that Samcro may have a problem give Fakir a beating giving 8 pounds.
Fakir was outpaced in the Supreme and in Joseph O Brien’s stable tour at the start of this season he said he would look to go up in trip this season. His impressive win last time over 2 miles gives the trainer a choice. My feeling is he could be even better over this trip in which case I can see him giving Samcro some trouble.
November 30, 2019 at 23:52 #1476272Agree with Mike re trip for Fakir. He will be better over it i believe.
In saying that, i also agree with Ham- Melon isn’t a consistent marker to use for form.
Samcro shades it. just.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 1, 2019 at 00:01 #1476273Fakir is for me a highly exciting prospect. I think his chase form, though just one race under his belt, is far superior to Samcro’s. Plus the step up in trip will be in his favour too.
December 1, 2019 at 13:36 #1476293What a race that was turning into
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 1, 2019 at 13:38 #1476294What a pity. Fakir d’oudairies jumped superb, got a length at every jump, but Samcro looked very strong. Could have been a nice finish.
December 1, 2019 at 13:39 #1476295Yeah IMO samcro would have beaten him up the straight, ill continue to be against fakir
Ronald barely jumped a fence!
December 1, 2019 at 13:44 #1476296Thrilling race, but just hoping Samcro didn’t pick up any minor injuries to rule him out for the rest of the campaign.
December 1, 2019 at 13:45 #1476297Fakir is a great jumper but Samcro has a proper engine. Elliot was saying he never scoped right last season but is happy with him this time around. With giving weight away there I’d be all over Samcro in a re-match
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 1, 2019 at 13:46 #1476298Such a shame, it was shaping up into a great race. Difficult to say who would have won but I reckon Fakir would have shaded it. His jumping was slightly slicker than Samcro and I reckon he might have pinched a length lead at the last and held on. Hope Samcro jumps round safely next time so we find out just how good he is.
December 1, 2019 at 13:57 #1476301Samcro was travelling all over fakir but losing a length at every fence
I think samcro wouldve outstayed him in the run in as he was tanking along but we will never know
Off level weights in March only one winner if samcro gets round
December 1, 2019 at 15:02 #1476311Can you trust samcro ….at Cheltenham .have to throw him at the last …Elliot has some work to do ….hope he has yogi tel no
December 1, 2019 at 16:18 #1476323They will have mixed feelings I’d imagine
Gutted he fell but at the same time happy that the engine he showed as a novice hurdler is still there
