‘The stable that fairytale Welsh Grand National winner Dream Alliance grew up in has been burnt to the ground in an apparent arson attack, killing a two-year-old and badly burning a mare on Sunday morning.
The stable at Cefn Fforest, Blackwood in south Wales, owned by Brian and Jan Vokes, who bred Dream Alliance, was set alight around 6.30am on Sunday morning.
The fire brigade, called by neighbours within minutes, found two-year-old Impossible Dream burnt to death in the stable but the mare, Juwireya, had broken out of the back.
Jan Vokes said: “She was found in the village, badly burned on her head, neck, back and sides with her eye swollen out.
“She is with the vets now but we don’t know whether she will survive and all hopes of breeding from her one last time before we retire have gone.”‘
…I’ve just read this on facebook and am in total disbelief at what I’ve read. How can anyone be this cruel?

Moe I’ve been so upset over this since I read it, have posted up a Memorial to Impossible Dream and hope and pray that the mare Juwireya pulls through.

This is the saddest news and hearts and thoughts go out to the Vokes family that the low life scum that did this will be caught and punished…preferably by being put in a box and burnt.

I can’t believe this, I’ve just heard about it. I’m sick to my stomach that anyone
could do this, and I’ve seen some evil bastards in my time. I wish I could get my hands
on whoever did this, I sincerely hope that word gets out and they are paid a visit.

I live within a few miles of this and am aware the area has more than its fair share of wasters. Plumbed new depths here I’m afraid

I could rant and rant about it but I will reserve my anguish disgust and sadness for myself and just say what a shame!!
