The film appears to show jockey Johnny Murtagh being handed an object by Sarah Lynam, daughter of trainer Eddie, following Sole Power’s victory in the King’s Stand Stakes.A statement from racing’s ruler read: "BHA are aware of the piece of footage in relation to the King’s Stand Stakes and are in the process of obtaining further information in relation to the issue."
Eddie Lynam insists there was nothing untoward in the exchange and is happy to answer any questions the BHA have on the matter.
He told the Daily Mail: "My daughter has been to Australia and back since. I asked her to rack her brains about what actually happened but she doesn’t remember anything. The poor girl is mortified.
"Johnny Murtagh’s and Eddie Lynam’s integrity is 100 per cent. We have never done anything wrong. Someone has come up with this and the BHA, for whatever reason, have decided to look into it.
"But that is what they are there for so let them look into it. We have no problems speaking to them."

March 26, 2014 at 13:37 #473322Hasn’t the bha got more pressing things to worry about like the pat cosgrove case and nontriers etc. Some people have too much time on their hands.
March 26, 2014 at 16:29 #473329To me it looks as though It’s Murtagh passing something to her? Or am I missing something? That would also make more sense would it not?
March 26, 2014 at 16:49 #473331Johnny is clearly doing the handing over. I have watched it several times and it looks like something that is hanging from a keyring. Could it be something as sinister as a key perhaps? Maybe it’s the remote control for the secret engine they have had fitted into Sole Power? Maybe it’s the key to Johnny’s flat?
No doubt the CIA can use imaging technology to isolate the object in minute detail. Have Paddy Power opened a book on what it is yet?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 26, 2014 at 17:09 #473332Looks like Jonny could be in trouble, not necessarily with the BHA, but the wife
March 26, 2014 at 17:14 #473333Maybe it was some sort of lucky charm, but you would think she would remember if she had given him a lucky charm for the race. Definitely Murtagh doing the handing over though.

@Emmet_Kennedy Pretty much agree with all that. (That Murtagh buzzer loon definitely wins the prize to date.)
There must have been someone banging on about it too around the time it happened, unless I am interpreting this aged tweet wrongly.
March 26, 2014 at 18:14 #473335I think it is his whip. If you watch the whip in his right hand as he removes the saddle, don’t take your eye off the whip he then appears hands it over to the lady, who then puts it behind her clutch bag. What can you get in a whip?
March 26, 2014 at 18:22 #473336It’s obscured a bit by the US odds line at the bottom but doesn’t he pull something from under the saddle as he takes it off? It’s then in his hand holding the whip and he passes whatever it is to her.
March 26, 2014 at 19:06 #473344What can you get in a whip?
You’d be surprised.

Must have been a midgets if it was a whip. One thing I noticed was the odd behaviour of the lady. The BHA need to get a behavioral psychologist on the case.
