I like Stormy Antartic here at 8/1 and have Zaaki as the main danger. I’m not a fan of the short priced favourite King Of Comedy who is weighted to win according to OR.

Any opinions welcomed on this interesting looking race.

King Of Comedy 2-1. In the Royal Ascot section I mentioned him as a contender in the Group 1 Queen Anne but he’s coming here instead for what, on paper, looks an easier task. If he’s fit and on his A game he should win.

I think King of Comedy needs 10f or a fast run mile to be seen at his best.
Not sure he’ll get that here and it might turn into a bit of a sprint late on
I went with Tabarrak who maybe able to set the pace from stall 9

I think King Of Comedy is one of those horses who has plenty of ability but isn’t the most genuine horse and not one I would trust in. He can have an awkward head carriage as well. He will probably completely mug me off today and hack up on the bridle but I’m just not a fan of the horse and am keen to take him on.

He had his quirks last season but I’m hoping he has matured this year.

I think the market is greatly underestimating the chance of Stormy Antarctic here. Although 5 of his 6 stakes wins have come on the continent and therefor will automatically be perceived as weaker than UK races, he has won a group 3 at Newmarket as a 3yo and won a Baden Baden group 2.
His 1 3/4 length 3rd in the group 1 woodbine mile in 2018 was very strong form and he had multiple group 1 winners behind him in 4th, 5th and 6th including uk trained Lord Glitters and on his last uk run he was beaten 1 1/2 lengths in 4th at Ascot ina. Group 1 behind Roaring Lion and I can Fly.

Not an easy task today giving weight all round and not entitled to win according to OR but his form figures first time up in the last 4 years are 1-1-2-1 so he clearly goes very well fresh and is a CD winner and the only group 2 winner in the line up.

Was also entered in a listed race at Royal Ascot next Thursday but they have chosen to go for the group 3 today and I think he will go close.

This’ll surely be beyond him, but I’ve always liked Chatez, and as much as I think King Of Comedy should be hard to beat, had to take an EW Chance.

Thought it would suit a front runner but picked the wrong one
Tabarrak looked in desperate need of the run and not in this class to be fair
King of Comedy got out better today but beaten by the slow fractions in my opinion same with Zaaki
both will reverse form with the winner in a stronger run race
