Yes, I thought that to be the case Cormack
What made me chuckle is I know who Oh so Sharp is
and is a clone of a big hitter on here
of days gone pastBlackbeard to conquer the World
February 27, 2019 at 22:07 #1399235More interesting is who jumped up and down in the opener. We can rule out Fist and all the contributors, and curiouslt he used the term sock puppet ?
Are you still lurking Oh So terribly Sharp, or have you handed in your knife and joined Pam Sly’s tight knitting circle for retired horsewomenfans ?
February 27, 2019 at 22:09 #1399236Oh So Sharp will still be lurking from time to time
100% gambleBlackbeard to conquer the World
February 27, 2019 at 22:14 #1399238I am suitably whetted but just now going out to the Offy for Krone
February 27, 2019 at 22:52 #1399245Rather like Lost soldier3’s amusingly confusing deletion, we cannot completely rule out the sharply clone practiced Oh So Sharp dressing up in admin’s hat. How would we ever know ?
February 27, 2019 at 22:56 #1399247Are we talking Kings ?
February 27, 2019 at 23:43 #1399249I cannot possibly reveal her identity but have left her a message
40/60 against she’ll come on here to post I think
but she was fond of you gamble so maybeBlackbeard to conquer the World
February 27, 2019 at 23:45 #1399251Lost Soldier started fresh, I thought it was because he was getting older and wanted a change from being known as The Young Fella but maybe he was blocked..
Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 27, 2019 at 23:54 #1399252All a bit before my time, but nonetheless intriguing.
I’m left pondering if I should take the red pill, or carry on in
blissful ignorance with the blue pillFebruary 28, 2019 at 00:14 #1399256I hadn’t got you as being old enough to need to take a blue pill BigG
As for the OP jumping up and down ( obviously no blue pill required there ) isn’t that funnily enough Reet Hard? I say this as Cormack replied to 18127 on the thread “The Best Forum” as Reet
February 28, 2019 at 00:33 #1399258Ugly Mare and I remember her stupendous ‘America’thread and yes she had the strength and capacity to write so. Tete Rouge didnt like me after I plonked her in a hot cabbage patch with all that that conjures up. Meshy deserted me after I called her Quidawictch. Kathy was before your time. Pocket rocket – Ruth was brilliant but too quiet for knives. Zoz built walls. Zome too flashy – no. Daisy might have picked one for me but no knive sharpener. Cybermum – not the type more bucket and spade. LRM – wouldn’t come back and would be spitting feathers at me aka the Cochrane thread ( Where Escorial got on his speed bike to the Mersey) Boroughhill would still be wearing her towel but was capable of drying wit. Jillyboots would have been more personal but would have sworn brutally – so by elimination possibly Ugly Mare who may have wanted a face name lift – although I thought she wore it well. Side bet on Boroughill.
If lost soldier3 – you were the Young fella – then oh dear, I owe you an apology for my art of war lesson, and congratulations on the little addition. I was a fan.
February 28, 2019 at 09:15 #1399266‘Oh so sharp’ won a fillies maiden at Nottingham back in 1984..She was razor sharp and could handle the colts..I of course backed her at 16/1 for the 1985 1000 gns..What a gamble that was too.
February 28, 2019 at 12:04 #1399273Do not forsake me oh my darlin
On this our skirt-change day
Do not forsake me oh my darlin
Wait wait for Lake….High Noon is appropriate your kingship and pardner in shocking stocking deceit ….spit ..you may suffer consequences for pulling wool.
That was a record time too – The choirboy if I am not mistaken. We all loved Oh So Sharp – so be careful the member from Luton may be along shortly. I backed the Mare Golden lady at Ascot for a big place bet around ’86 – she came 3rd and me Dad who backed it bigger was whooping for joy. It wasnt Golden Lady it was Midway Lady and just watched her spectacular Oaks win on the tube overtaking Untold.
Oh So Sharp was more precious and more loved – so be on your guard
March 1, 2019 at 00:23 #1399349Ugly Mare was a legend
West Derby Ken never liked it when I took the piddle out of her username and always told me off, like I was a naughty school boy. Poor old Ken had a sharp pen mightier than the sword but died of ink poisoning, possibly a leaked fountain pen.
I never understood much of Jilly’s posts, I had her down as your sister, gamble…
Boroughhill was the Simpson, she was a good poster, you had to speak up when posting to her because she was wearing a towel.
of the others, most names I recognise but can’t remember much about their postings. Was the horse Triptych around the same time as Oh So Sharp…?
I think Oh So Sharp the poster had a small crush on her, Triptych that is not the horseBlackbeard to conquer the World
March 1, 2019 at 01:44 #1399353“Was the horse Triptych around the same time as Oh So Sharp…?“
Indeed she was, Nathan. Sheikh Mohammed’s great filly trounced Triptych by six lengths in the 1985 Oaks, barely shaken up to do so, in one of the most underrated performances ever seen- it was simply top notch. Well worth watching on YouTube.
March 1, 2019 at 08:46 #1399362She was closer to the white blaze one of my personal old favourites Al Bahathri in the 1000 but I will check the tube – thank you Gladrags for the pointer and better have a gander at Tryptych who was also spectacular and had a much longer career than Oh So Sharp’s seven sparklng jewels of a lifetime set in nine diamonds that make up her tiara and triple crown.
Talking of love Nathan I do think the racing public was in love in the eighties, just so sad that so many affairs were carried out in three clandestine furtive hours under the covers on a secretive Saturday, smooching with little pens behind tbe ear, in seedy smokey blacked out rip off bordellos, bankrupt of the greeness of grass and canopy of tree that Winston experienced when he met Jane secretly between the covers of 1984.
March 2, 2019 at 11:11 #1399500I think a similar experience happened to Billion and MrE
outside the back alley of the bingo hall
both were in terribly good moods at the time
Billion had won a fiver on a line and left two bob up
and MrE had punched ginger on the nose after seeing him standing outside the casino protesting, ginge was holding a placard saying that nobody wins bar the house and shouting “No value in Red or Black” he was left looking ginger, red and black after MrE’s haymaker.
Matron cleaned him up before Cormack came home but Corm wouldn’t have noticed as he was paralytic after watching the Hibs win against Hearts.Oh So Sharp the “poster” in her other guise use to drop a few naughty lines to Triptych who always responded perfectly.
It was hot stuff and on occasion a wipe of the brow was required.(Wolf Whistle)……
