He is terrible. commentator ,pundit .knows nothing . takes money .puts nothing in . in my opinion he should be removed from anything to do with a great sport.

Whilst I am inclined to agree with you on point one, he is not a great commentator. I do wonder exactly what it is you recommend he do to ‘put something back in’.

    Outrageous!
What about the hours he selfishly puts in selecting tips for the poor? Injured Jockeys and Retired Racehorses can fend for themselves and Barney Curley funds all those things in Africa.

"Tommo is a winner – theres nothing wrong with his DNA test – and he passed the lie detetctor test with flying colours!Seriously, he’s a man I’ve watched for years on television and is definately the top man! Hes also a very, very good judge at picking winners! "
Jeremy Kyle, TV Presenter (Sorry for the surprisingly bad spelling and punctuation. I only went to Surrey University)

"Please could you pass my warmest thanks onto Tommo for his perfect 4 from 4 today. It was the perfect introduction – Long may it continue!"
    Graham L, Warwickshire

"Just a thank you for yet another magnificent tipping performance on Saturday. I put 4 of the tips into a £5 yankee and netted a return of £7500. Well Done and thanks again"
    David J, Durham:

Then there are all the private speaking events he appears at for a very modest fee. How could just one man put so much back?:

Derek’s a legend. If ever you meet him in a pub he will down your drink quicker than you can say ‘pleased to meet you Mr Thompson’ Then he will tell you that it’s your round.

The man is a buffoon..err, well paid buffon who thinks he can commentate when he really is a disaster at raising excitment for a finale when its obvious he has called it wrong.
Last straw for me was when he let it known he didn’t like the legend that is Matt Chapman.
Tommo, you have rinsed the UK public for so long it’s unreal.

Thanks Ben for making the effort to join up to give us your opinion. What exactly should he put in?

I love the concept of someone being "

    allowed

    to continue".

    By whom?

Not sure where you’re coming from with this but at least Matt doesn’t mind ruffling feathers and shoots from his lip unafraid of pissing big names off… i luv him and then we have the luvvies……Jim McG, Emma (i need a new wardrobe), etc..

He was really nice to my son – who thinks he’s hilarious and loves the relentless Tommo bonhomie – at Fontwell Park so – guess what? – I like the fella. :D

Thommo is great but don’t back his tips. Actually, don’t back anyone’s tips unless they are blood relatives.

I can’t abide his commentary. Sucking air through his teeth before telling us for the fifth time that furlong that AP McCoy – the eighteen times Champion, don’t you know ?! – is on the favourite and looking good. However, he’ll then mention another horse back in 4th that’s in another county but staying on ; that’s his tip.

Might be a great bloke but he acts like the village idiot on the tv

He is a bit of a buffoon but you’ve got to admire his relentless enthusiasm. His commentaries are all over the place, but he’s just right for a rainy AW evening at Wolverhampton. I think it would be a terrible shame to pension him off now. He’s a legend.
