If I was injured after falling off my chair laughing at an internet post, could I make an insurance claim and if so, who would be liable? The poster or the site owner? Either way Corm and Fist of Fury, I’m speaking to some ambulance chasers as I type.

    Nick Dundee indeed!

    The chair manufacturer perhaps?

You wouldn’t be able to claim from Fist of Fury as those amongst society who are INSANE are protected from that sort of thinhg aren’t they?

Denman looked so much like Mill House today, it was uncanny, a tad smaller than the "Big Horse" maybe, but still a big and magnificently athletic chaser, with the same white diamond on his forehead.

With spring-heeled jumping and all the raw power you could ever imagine, he really brought back the old memories of 40-odd years ago.

I am not getting carried away, but, if he turns up, he will win Gold Cup.

he is the better horse and Kauto and possibly Nick Dundee are the only horses I have seen I rate and can talk about in the same breath as "Himself"

OK, OK. As others have already pointed out you’re absolutely off your head, but this was what got me:

In know way at this time would I even dream of puting Denman up there with the greats……….he’s won a poxy Hennessy that a hundred good horses that have run in the past could have won.

And Nick Dundee won what? The WIlliam Neville & Sons Novices’ Chase? He won the square root of bugger all and you’ve got him beating Arkle, whereas Denman isn’t as good as Kauto Star because he’s only won a ‘poxy Hennessey’?

He’s going for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown. PFN wants to keep him and KS apart until Cheltenham.

    Yes you are.

Winning the Gold Cup is vastly different from winning the Hennessey. What we saw today was a superb performance from Denman but that doesn’t mean he’s a certainty for the GC. Based on this performance he looks class but lets see how he deals with Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer before we get too carried away

    Dunkirk, maybe.

And at levels, I’d have Flyingbolt over Denman and KS most days of the week.

Last week Exotic Dancer fans were still hoping he could win a GC if the ground came up soft, so that it would blunt the speed of Kauto Star and make it a stamina test. Now if it does come up testing in March, ED has another mighty task on his hands because those conditions will suit Denman admirably. Looks like PN holds all the aces!

It was a very good performance but let’s not get too carried away. Arkle used to concede weight on a regular basis to Gold Cup class rivals

Coffin dodger alert! Nurse!!! Take him quietly back to the ward please… :D

More seriously, im not sure what hows thats going to affect next years GC

I wouldn’t describe myself as an Exotic Dancer "fan", but the point certainly hadn’t been lost on me after I had made that very case… :(

Ah, well, my ante-post bet on X-Factor is still looking good even if I couldn’t tip a likely Cheltenham Festival winner to save my life at present…

Some of you lot make me laugh in hysterics, Nick Dundee? Please give it a rest.

Added to that Arkle is no longer racing so why does he crop up everywhere?

On a slightly more serious note – Denman today was breathtaking, that was an awesome performance. Not the fact that he won off a mark of 161 but in that this was a biggish field proper handicap with the horse not previously having had a run, in bad ground over a trip he hadn’t tried before and carrying eleven stone twelve and Denman didn’t just win the race he absolutely demolished the field he had the race won from a mile out. People have mentioned Mill House but Denman reminded me of Borough Hill Lad he’s a big, burly machine of a horse.

He’s got to be on anyones Gold Cup shortlist. In any average year he’d be the one to beat and I’d imagine a short priced favourite but with Kauto and Exotic around Denman still has a bit to prove against these two, lets see how he does against that sort of class of animal.

I expect Ruby would choose Kauto at this stage. Lets not forget for all Denman’s promise, Kauto has already proved himself the best horse in the last fifteen years or so.

The three of them are fantastic staying chasers. We are living in a golden era make no mistake about that, I intend to enjoy every minute of it.

RPR awards him a rating of 175 for todays, which is debatable since Trabolgan earned a 168 for beating a similar field, albeit less easily.
How much he will improve on that is no foregone conclusion either, as although he’s a novice and could possibly be got fitter, he won’t find too many 3.25 mile gd1 slogs in the mud during a normal season, and will be meeting horses with a finishing kick, such as Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer, on their terms rather than his for most of his races.
A brilliant win, and a really imposing horse who may get even better but, in a golden period for staying chasers, it’s a bit early to be burying the other 2 just yet.
