I’ve long had a hankering to attend their summer festival, probably staying at least one night in or around the town. Do any forumites have experience, direct or otherwise, of the racing there?

Ive never been racing in France , would love to get around a few one day .Clarefontaine racecourse is next door to Deauville .
Bit like Doomben and Eagle Farm in Brisbane two big tracks one side of road to other .February 25, 2026 at 15:05 #1756255Funnily enough I was looking around the internet just last night trying to plan a ten day road trip round France for and part of the plan I came up with included a day at Deauville on Sunday the 2nd of August for Maurice de gheest day.
There’s a town called Honfleur that sounds like it could be a good spot to stay for the night. A harbour town with cobbled streets and good food and wine!
February 25, 2026 at 15:34 #1756261I’ve never been there, but judging from portraits of Honfleur harbour by Seurat it looks spectacularly beautiful!
