I can’t recall a more impossible card. A case of taking single shots in the vague hope of finding one winner, then I got sucked into the wretched Grand Annual!

March 16, 2018 at 08:25 #1346976Yes best of luck Charlie, you had another great day yesterday. Hope one of them Acca’s comes off for you today.
GM well done again, that’s two days running now, in massive handicaps, that you have beaten me into second place! Glenloe was a right nause up yesterday… Not sure how BG got it beat, but he cost me a fortune! I saved the day with TheStoryteller… The moment he crossed the line, I started backing the Elliot horse Duca De Thaix for the County today. He’s carving it up! Glad I did, his price collapsed twenty minutes later.
2.10 Duca De Thaix 12-1 & 14-1 (Ladbrokes boost), saver on Sandsend 12-1.
2.50 Santini 9-2
3.30 Native River 8-1, 13-2 & 6-1
4.50 Diese Des Bieffes 8-1
5.30 North Hill Harvey 12-1 for plenty, 10-1.Big day today for moi, I’m pretty much level going into the last day. My biggest bets are all running today (apart from Glenloe ).

March 16, 2018 at 17:29 #1347111Once again Charlie, great great stuff!!!
March 16, 2018 at 17:31 #1347113GM, well done to you as well for picking Native River and Blow By Blow and Le Prezien!
March 16, 2018 at 17:41 #1347115Great stuff Charlie and Golden Miller on a great day as well, take a bow lads

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 16, 2018 at 18:26 #1347125Well done GM, amazing stuff again! You and Charlie have been very consistent every single day. Loads of big handicap winners! Chuffed you got the acca up Charlie.
I won a very nice amount on Native River, he was my biggest bet of the festival.
I chucked a R/FC on Mr Adjudicator & Farclas in the Triumph after hearing on ITV that their time compared to Samcro was fast LTO, that paid out £1.8k. In the end it was a good day, and a very profitable festival thanks to Native River. Wish I’d have followed GM & Charlie in the handicaps

Anyone know how North Hill Harvey is after his fall? I’ve checked where I can, but can’t see anything, hope he’s alright.
March 16, 2018 at 20:32 #1347161Thanks everyone and very well done Charlie, all fellow Native River backers and those who found other winners throughout the day and week. Two fatalities in the Grand Annual including North Hill Harvey I’m afraid Nausered (see Memorials on TRF). The final update:
All BOG except where stated

Final Total: Stake 400.00 Return 1112.21 +712.21 ROI (26 races) 178%
I would guess my normal ROI per season is about 10-15% (I don’t do multiples or invest ante post) but, as many of you know, I’m taking this season and perhaps the next couple off to make my Grand National history website, therefore, the Festival was the first time this season I’ve done any serious form study and even then there was only time to do half the normal amount. Yet this was probably my most successful Cheltenham with a profit on all four days so that’s food for thought about my approach when I eventually get back to it full time! Can’t wait for Aintree now.
March 16, 2018 at 21:13 #1347180Thanks GM, unfortunately I heard the bad news on the Grand Annual thread, just after I posted that. It was a horrible fall, really did not look good at the time. Sad end to the day.
March 17, 2018 at 09:30 #1347272Well done all!
March 17, 2018 at 09:48 #1347275Very well played guys
