David Pipe stepping horses up in trip – oppose at your peril

Look no further than Osana, for a ‘ blinkers’ decision which back-fired spectacularly. The horse always gave his running, and it’s a complete mystery as to why DEP saw fit to apply first-time-blinkers to the horse in the Champion Hurdle.

He clearly expected some level of further improvement in them, but Osana ran about two-stone below the level had

Well, DP won’t get another opportunity to apply blinkers to Osana as Thomas Barr has now removed his horses from the yard.

Very short-term thinking from yer man Barr there. Would it have killed him to let him see now far Pipe could have taken Osana in a season of novice chasing, at the very least?
