Am kicking myself from here to Leeds!! Should have just stuck a fiver each way at 22/1 cos I thought he was massively overpriced.

Oh well first moan alert of the year

That’s a real sickener Raymo, so sorry mate I really thought when he was 3 up that he
could hold out. When I’m watching a final round, and when I look like winning it, I
generally look around for for challengers if there is only one or two, and only if
they are decent odds. I know it might feel like rubbing salt in the wound, but it’s
a strategy that’s done me well in the past. Probably the worst one (for Darren) was
when Fox got done by Knox in the Irish Open last year with a monster putt, I took
him at 25/1 before he played his shot to the green from an awful lie, thinking he had
next to no chance, but he did it. I’d rather lose 50 quid out of a 500 quid win to protect
    it. It’s worth considering mate.

You’ll have Hadwin e/w, but I know it’s not much consolation at the moment :-(

Unlucky guys with Hadwin felt he should won that when he went 3 clear i see that winner Adam Long was 500/1 at start of event as well.He came from Web.com but unlike stars from like there Sunjae im and Cameron Champ he did not win on that tour best was 2nd place

I gutted as well BigG check the scores for top aussie i was on Cameron Davis i check last night held 6 shot advantge over Baddley during final round and lost out by a shot.

That was bad luck Darren with your Cameron Davis bet, it looked like it was in the
bag before the last round. You’re right it was unlucky that Hadwin didn’t win, I’m just
gutted for Raymo. No need to feel sorry for me Darren, I’ve come out of it well enough
with Hadwin’s 1st round leader win, his overall E/W, and my late insurance bet on Long.
I’m not going to chance frittering it away, so I’ve taken the lot out and will be sticking
it away for Cheltenham. It will more than pay for everything on Gold Cup day.

You’re due a bit of luck Raymo, I hope this week is a bit kinder to you mate :good:

Bets at Farmers insurance open where got 6bets this week since 2012 had 5 winners of event from Day last year and round by Sneds to.So hope to make it 6wins

    TONY FINAU 25/1

This guy should more titles by now but sadly only a win in Puerto Rico he been playing well last 6months 2nd behind Rahm at hero challenge.Lost a playoff to Scuauffele. But form here last 3years been better each year 6th last year and every chance of getting deserved win

    TIGER WOODS 14/1

Can’t leave him out here at one of his fave tracks won Tour championship last year and got back to form he did he adore this place when you look at winners here many of them won event more than once like Day and Snedecker.Tiger won it more than anyone here

    ALEXANDER NOREN 50/1

Lost in playoff here was fine effort by him he getting closer to a win on pga tour think this be the year for him and could have a big say this weekend

    HARRIS ENGLISH 100/1

Lost a playoff to Day years ago here and if look at last 5years he always seems to play well here though not won anything for a while a return to this venue can inspire him.

    OLLIE SCHNIEDERJANS 200/1

Was 9th here in 2017 and is someone I feel is getting closer to breaking duck on PGA tour though recent form not been the best for him he is someone at a price who can pop up could be this week

    MICHAEL KIM 250/1

He loves torrey pines it local track when he was a kid he played over 100 rounds around here he has even took a lead in this event few years ago so I ignore recent poor form and coming back home this week.

    Dubai bets up soon

    Dubai desert classic

    TYRELL HATTON 22/1

He is a mad one at times can get upset easy he can but a fine player on certain tracks like at this event was 3rd last year finish very strong but was not enough.Has form in the desert at DP Tour championship could of won that in 2016.And for me be one to beat here

    MATTHEW FITZPATRICK 25/1

He the guy who beat Hatton in DP Tour championship and someone who should be given respect in event here this course suits him very well. And he play well in Singapore to suggest a bold run is coming here.

    ALEXANDER BJORK 66/1

Was 6th here last year and while not at his best at Abu dhabi he play well in 1st round and this track more suitable for him that power type layout.

    AARON RAI 100/1

Winner in Hong kong and every chance here as he much better player than 12 months ago again same comments about Bjork in that last week not suit him but here I expect better things this week.

Also gone for Win double of Finau 25/1 T Hatton 22/1

And top players bets be later in the week

    good luck guys

    Dubai Desert Classic

Bryson DeChambeau 14/1 (20/1 1st round leader market)

He’s the class act in the field, and I was going to leave him out initially,
I don’t normally bet them in single figures, but Sky have stuck their neck out
by going 20/1 in the 1st round and that’s just too good to turn down and therefore
I’m obliged to bet him outright. If he is in top form, and he looked just about
there with his last 2 outings in the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the Sony
Open, finishing 7th and T10, then he has a major shout here.

Sergio Garcia 14/1 (25/1 1st round leader market)

It’s hard to ignore the chances of Garcia, he’s been on fire of late. Five top
10s in his last 5 tournaments, including winning the Valderrama Masters and runner
up in the Nedbank Golf Challenge. I suppose the only down side is that he’s had a
couple of months off and will he be in the same form. If he is ready for this he
    wont be far away.

Richard Sterne 80/1 (80/1 1st round leader market)

He’s a player who should have done better than he has over the past few years,
you have to go back 6 years for his last win in the Joburg Open. I don’t know
if he has been changing his game, but after his festive break he came out last
week in the Abu Dhabi Championship and looked like a rejuvenated golfer with
4 good rounds in the 60s for runner up behind Lowry. It might just be a blip,
but at the odds he’s worth a pop.

Eddie Pepperell 90/1 (66/1 1st round leader market)

I think Pepperell is well over priced by Sky, it’s only a couple of tournaments
back that he won the British Masters and was runner up in the Portugal Masters
just before that. Hopefully last week’s Abu Dhabi was enough to blow away the
cobwebs, he made the cut, but T49 was no better than okay. He’s won a bit for
me before, maybe he can be lucky for me again and take a hand in this.

I’ll get my picks in for the Farmers in a bit :good:

    Farmers Insurance Open

Mark Leishman 20/1 (20/1 1st round leader market, North Course)

He’s one of those players to latch onto when he’s hot, and he’s smouldering at the
moment. Last 3 starts read 2nd, T4 and T3 and he has been runner up in this a couple
of times in 10 starts, T8 last year. Strong trends and current form give him a very
    good chance here.

Charles Howell III 33/1 (25/1 1st round leader market, South Course)

Howell has similar credentials to Leishman, in that he’s had 8 top 10s and been runner
up 3 times in 16 starts here, T6 last year. Recent form is sound, winner of the RSM
Classic in November, 3rd in the QBE Shootout last month and T8 in the Sony Open earlier
this month. Only T34 last time out in the Desert Classic, but he did lead that competition
in greens in regulation and would have been more competitive had he been a bit tidier around
the greens. Back on greens that are more familiar to him he should still be in the hunt come
    Sunday.

Cameron Smith 40/1 (25/1 1st round leader market, North Course)

He’s really come of age and is no longer just a young player with potential, he’s
arrived. Winner of the Ozzie PGA and 2nd in the Handa Melbourne World Cup of Golf
last month, and he came out after his break with 4 good rounds in the 60s in the
Sony Open. T20 here last year, but he’s a better player now and can improve on
that. On his day he can score ridiculously low, so well worth a punt in the 1st
    round betting.

Harold Varner 150/1 (50/1 1st round leader market, North Course)

He didn’t quite get into the money for me last week when he was T18 in the Desert
Classic, but was only a couple of shots out of the money. He’s playing consistently
well, 2 top 10s in his last 4 starts, I think that his odds don’t reflect his chances
here. I’m happy to have another go with him.

That’s me done for this week guys, it was a good one for me last week and I’d be
happy to add to my Cheltenham stash this week if the golfing Gods are still smiling
on me. Lets hope we can all get a return, and hopefully no heartbreak this week Raymo :good:

LOL I would be sat in the garden in the dark if that happened Darren
Sky are paying eight places and he is a long hitter and is pretty high in the DD stats so thought he was worth fifty bob each way at dem odds!!

I have also backed three of my Dubai bets for first round leader so keep an eye out for Rafa cos he is the one I haven’t backed !!

New years Resolution was to moan less!! LOL

Well we’re at the halfway stage in the Farmers, and it looks like we’re all struggling a bit
with Rose storming to the front. I’m happy to say that my man Charles Howell III, finished
2nd in 1st round overall, but he was leader on the South Course and although a share meant
his odds were halved from 25s, it was still a nice win which covered all my Farmers bets
with a good bit to spare :yahoo: . He’s 8 under and with Rose 15 under he is going to have to
have a great 3rd round if he is going to challenge. You’re in the same position Darren with
Finau, he was 6 under but they have started the round and he has birdied the 1st 2 to get to
8 under, he could be on a roll.

Things looking a bit better for me in the Desert Classic, where my man DeChambeau has kept
his nose in front after 3 rounds to be leading by 1 from Li Haotong. I fancy he can tough
it out but Li is well capable of scoring low. I see your man Fitzpatrick was outright leader
and 1st round Darren, I bet he would have been a nice price for that. He needs another round
like that as he’s 5 back.

    Good luck chaps :good:

Bad 2nd round cost Fitzpatrick for me mate i think De chambeau should win it from here

On farmers i feel Finau need a wonder round like Snedecker did hear few years ago for us when he won it

They have played 13, Dechambeau is 6 clear so I’ll stick my neck out and say he’s won. I’m
always checking the markets for something extra, and Sky are offering 3/1 for Dechambeau to
win by 7 shots or more, I reckon that’s worth a punt, so I’ve had a good few quid on as I know
I’ve got a good return coming anyway. He’s some player and I think the ante post bets we have
on him Darren are looking good :good:
