Fist comes out with some crazy stuff at times but in fairness to the lad he puts his money where is mouth his and backs his opinions, if his thread elsewhere on this forum is to be believed.
For me Canford Cliffs looks like an early bloomer. I wouldn’t be rushing down to the bookies to back him ante-post for anything next year. Although he impressed at Ascot, the 2yo form is always very vulnerable and there’ll be plenty more bubbles burst before the season is out.
We’ll know a lot more after the National Stakes and the Beresford Stakes as to how the 2yo form on this side of the Irish Sea stands up. Oxx, Bolger and O’Brien have yet to really show us their hand. This time last year Sea The Stars was only a maiden winner.
Who knows what’s lurking on the gallops at Ballydoyle, on the Curragh or at Newmarket??
