I have been really impressed with his riding off late, he’s settling his mounts beautifully and tend to really travel well.
Not sure how old he is or how long he’s been around but isn’t anyone impressed with his ability of late?
May 30, 2011 at 22:14 #358010What a ride he gave NANTON today in the Zetland at Redcar. You would have thought he would have needed wings to get through the wall of horses in front of him, but Danny Tudhope was as cool as a cucumber waiting for the right moment to thread Nanton to the outside to come with a blistering run to pip the battling Prince of Johann and Desert Romance.
Nanton is such a battler and Jim Goldie well deserved this win for keeping the old boy in such good nick all these years.
Well done to old favourite NANTON up and comping Daniel Tudhope and respected trainer Jim Goldie, what a great race and what a great price 25-1
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 31, 2011 at 08:07 #358034I’ve not noticed him at all, but i shall keep an eye out for him from now on.
Nanton. As he came off the bridle, the enthused commentator yesterday boomed something like "…and here comes the ever popular NANTON…" as if were witnessing the second coming of the Flying Dutchman.
Ever popular? From
that
yard?
Goldie is a headscratcher for the unconnected punter. For me, the Scotsman is the trainer who best epitomises the oft-whispered cliche the old boys use whenever you get into a natter with them about racing. You know the one.
"They don’t run ’em for the likes of us…"
Of the 579 currently licenced trainers of thoroughbred racehorses, Goldie must be easily the the most difficult to read.
May 31, 2011 at 13:31 #358059I have Tudhope on my list of Jockeys to follow, he has ridden two for Goldie recently winners at 16/1 and 25/1. He’s £60 in profit to £1 level stake (RP)

You know I’m a good judge of a jockey and Tudhope has nailed a 4 timer at 437-1 at Catterick today.
Aidan sign him up!

Tudhope lands a big field handicap at Doncaster on Smarty Socks at 9-1, the blokes just a licence to print money!
