The old boy I work with keeps going on about his big win on a luca Cumani horse called Dallas?
He says it won a big handicap in the 1980`s,
Anyone know of the horse and race as I can`t find it, might be is memory going?

There was horse called Dallas that won the Cambridgeshire. Ray Cockrane was riding him that day. I suppose he won other big handicaps.

Yes Dallas won the 1986 Cambridgeshire for Luca Cumani/Ray Cochrane at 10/1. He was owned by Richard L. "Dick" Duchossois who is 92 and still Chairman of Arlington Park in Chicago.

He also owned other top class horses of the same vintage with Luca – Celestial Storm and Second Set.

Dallas won the Britannia at Royal Ascot after unseating the jockey and bolting down the track.Having had the full bank on him at 11/1 in the morning seeing him open at 11/4 drift out to 9/2 I hoped he would be withdrawn, but he ran and won.
He won the Cambridgeshire on the July course due to building work on the Rowley mile,Dancing Brave won the Arc the next day so a popular double was landed.
It seemed easier years ago I struggle to pick the winner of a 2 horse race now.

If you go to back a certainty always buy a return ticket.

Dallas did indeed win the 86 Cambridgeshire and as proof you can view it or he can on my you tube site via following link I backed him big time he was a typical Cumani rapid improver.
