David Loder the former Sheikh Mohammed trainer apparently had two runners in the Hunters Chase at Bangor today??????
Is this really the "old" David Loder? Have I missed something???
It would be very strange to me since he could only train yearlings and two-year oldson the Flat. Now he does exactly the opposite: mature horses over longer distances and jumping fences. How did this come?February 6, 2015 at 20:11 #504304Yes it is the same David Loder. He is basically just training a few pointers now for his own amusement.
February 7, 2015 at 10:51 #504412I saw that as well…it was a cracking Hunters chase my fav sort of race ….hope he does well , in his day his nags did me a few good turns , plus he was always friendly and approachable when you bumped into him on the course ,,,if his horse was a good thing , he would just grin at you ….
good luck that man

I vaguely remember making a comment on Channel 4 Teletext Service’s Racing Chat pages a few years ago, about hoping for David Loder to come back big time and launch a real challenge to a certain Aidan O’Brien’s powerful stable of young equine talent. I certainly wish he could come back.
By the way, did anyone else on here take part in the Ch4 Teletext Racing Chat a few years ago? It was a jolly good bit of fun really. Loved the banter.
