Fast approaching now, England V South Africa on the 30th May. Couldn’t see a thread on here, but could be blind.
I’m no expert on cricket but been following it a bit more closely over the last month or so. Reckon Australia could be the bet at 4/1. They don’t quite have the batting power of England but they are probably a more balanced side. If there was a market on a team to finish last (a round-robin format is in use this year), backing Sri Lanka would be wise. Malinga could walk out after being stripped of the captaincy at the 11th hour, Matthews refused the captaincy and now they are trying to give it to Karunaratne who hasn’t played an ODI for 4 years. Shambles!
April 21, 2019 at 18:19 #1419064For once, I can’t see past England (9/4) on our own patch. We look superb and are deserving favourites. I really don’t fancy Australia (i think 4/1 is a very skinny price about then) and think England ought to be around 7/4 or 13/8. Possibly even 6/4 would be fair. Think there’s some juice in that 9/4.
One at a price is West Indies at 20/1 although they’re very inconsistent (like Australia) which makes me think the format won’t suit them.
England v India Final. New Zealand and West Indies beaten semi finalists I reckon.
England to win the 2019 Cricket World Cup @ 9/4
April 22, 2019 at 23:47 #1419357Interesting shout about the West Indies, rather a team I’d play match to match due to their inconsistency. Think Australia might be running into a bit of a form at the right time, even if it was a depleted Pakistan they beat 5-0 recently.
May 21, 2019 at 12:54 #1439913Iv had bets on rabada 14/1 and kuldeep yadav 15/1 to be top wicket taker
Had a little on bairstow for top scorer as hes my favourite
But main bet is virat kohli at 7/1
Hills are doing an offer where if you bet on a player to be top run scorer you get a £5 free bet everytime they score a hundred
Kohli is a hundred machine and has to be an each way bet to nothing
May 21, 2019 at 12:56 #1439914My worry about England winning is I don’t think our bowlers are good enough to win us a game when the batsmen don’t make 325+
Moeen and Rashid were really bad in the series vs Pakistan, neither had the control that they normally do
Rashid in particular looked very rusty
May 30, 2019 at 11:20 #1443578West indies 20/1
J Roy 14/1
A Finch 20/1T Boult 16/1
K Ragbodo 16/1My outright and top bats and bowler bets
May 30, 2019 at 23:58 #1443656I think England looked solid
Agree the bowling could be the weakness but they are sure to make the Semi Final so only really two games to worry about that regard that plus they bat very deep anywayGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 3, 2019 at 22:57 #1444617As today showed doesn’t matter how deep your batting is you cant chase down scores of 350 over and over
Because Roy and bairstow were scoring so heavily and so fast we have been getting away with it
Even the genius of Jos buttler couldn’t bail the bowlers out today
June 11, 2019 at 05:28 #1445005Forgot all about this thread since my original post. Anyway, that 9/4 on England is just a saver now as I got fully stuck into India at some nice prices on the exchange. So I’m well into then. Swamped the England bet. India to win the cricket World Cup at 4.9
Also did India at 2.82 to top the group stage. This was after England lost to Pakistan and whilst India were beating Australia. Seemed very much value on the exchange.
Finally, did five small in the top runscorer market as I thought there was some very obvious value prices on the machine. All 5 are level stakes so two are effectively just savers:
– Root @ 7.8
– Warner @ 8.2
– Kohli @ 9.2
– Butler @ 23.0
– Sharma @ 21.0The bottom two were clearly too big. Same with Kohli in my opinion. Root and Warner are the right price I thought so played them as well.
Good luck with your bets all.
July 7, 2019 at 14:55 #1447921Ruddy hell MoM if the England v India final materialises you can’t lose. Would mean Sharma having two innings left to Warner’s one, obviously the guaranteed outright winner (you’ll have to make do with the smaller bet on England
) and India to top the group already in the bag anyway.July 9, 2019 at 15:12 #1448072Cheers Richard.
India topping the group thanks to South Africa beating the Aussies was a brucey bonus.
Sharma would be a nice winner of the top scorer bet.
The India bet to win the WC was quite hefty and made England a saver bet.
It’s very likely to be a good betting tournament for me tbh. The individual matches for single betting and lack of shocks have helped in that regard too.

July 14, 2019 at 23:05 #1448603Quite simply one of the greatest pieces of sporting theatre you could ever hope to witness. Watching the highlights now and I’m still nervous. Very few things have ever had me screaming at the TV like that. We don’t win a World Cup the easy way whatever the sport.
July 15, 2019 at 02:07 #1448606Firstly, that was a brilliant! What a fantastic game of cricket. I watched it in a sports bar and the scenes when the final moments happened was superb. Brilliant to see england win!
As for the betting, it’s been a good tournament quite frankly. Of the three markets I played on:
1) India topped the group on the last game thanks to South Africa shockingly beating the Aussies.
2) England won outright as my saver bet. India obviously were the main bet but for the saver to win, no harm done.
3) Rohit Sharma was the top scorer by a single run to David Warner. So sharma winning at 21.0 on the exchange makes that a very good betting tournament for me.Hope you’ve all done well out of it too. Final word on Ben Stokes. To do what he’s done in that final, after all the controversy that surrounded him before and the way we lost the 20/20 final a few years ago when he got hit for 20+ in the final over, is just fantastic. Well done lad – you’ve done us all proud.
