Well I mean all you ever do is say ‘oh I mentioned that horse months ago and now look’. And if you’re not doing that all you say is ‘What do you guys think of Sagacious, she is my Oaks tip’.

I just like to hear other people thoughts on horses i like that is all.

‘Darren’, from the ancient celtic meaning ‘narcissist, he that knows everything’ (either that or stilvi has found the resolve to form his own opinion).

Head Space was certainly impressive, as was Retainer, but I would agree with Kopwas that Temple Meads is the most interesting prospect to have seen a racecourse thus far.

That said, quotes of 8/1 (Head Space) and 10/1 (Temple Meads) wouldn’t be enough to tempt me in to betting on a race like the Coventry at this stage of the season.

I am not narcissist i am very condfident on my horses will not be always right. but no harm in being condfident is there.

Zoffany is the one for me so far. I like this colt a lot.

Elzaam went to the top of my list with his performance on Thursday at York. He looked a well developed horse with potential to improve, showing a few novicey moments before stretching out.
Strong Suit also looked the part at Newbury (of course the race won by Canford Cliffs in 2009). He and the second moved away from the field nicely in a good time especially since they didn’t appear to be going that fast in the first couple of furlongs.

The 2nds in both races also warrant following. Sir Reginald would surely win any maiden after chasing up Elzaam. And Neebras was lengths clear of the third.

Hughes gave several comments today about Strong Suit that he could be a star etc. Price now in to 7/2.

Last week I got bored, so I sat down to work out the Race Par for the Coventry Stakes using 18 years worth of data.
When I had rated every race, I took the top 50 rated horses and the medium par came out at

    106

    .

Interesting stats, thanks, your work was not in vain I’m sure.
I’m happy to stick with my 2 English based horses but I may have under estimated that Curragh race?

    I would like to see

    Bahceli

run in this years Coventry, even though R,Hannons got the fav in Strong Suit,i see him as a pretty useful and rapidly improving 2yo.33/1 is a very healthy price too!

Samuel Morse for me Gerald, I am on at 6-1 and backing him for the 2011 Guineas.

Will write up to justify my opinion within the coming week, might even find another at value.

Samuel Morse looks like a decent animal alright. Form boosted by Stack’s horse at Epsom the other day.

I’m in catch-up mode at the moment Mr Wilson, just going through the horses finding out which one is being aimed at what.

edit: Haven’t bet in the RA 2yo races since about 1995, so I’m just feeling my way in.

I have to admit that my heart is drawing me to

    Elzaam

. First of all, being a Redoute’s Choice and being bred in Australia, and secondly winning that 6f race at York that I like. I’ll do some Gerald-style trends tomorrow.
