Coral have just opened a book. I am not sure if this is a target for Head Space but if they ran the race now he would around 2/1 rather than the 8/1 on offer.
May 9, 2010 at 16:49 #294973I went through the market the other day and none of the those currently in the market met the RPR trends.
May 9, 2010 at 17:00 #294977I did a query in Raceform Interactive, and then exported it, and then opened it in Excel, just to make sure the system works for other things.
2yos with a raceform rating of 90+
horse name raceform rating
Head Space 90
Retainer 91
Cape To Rio 91
Julius Geezer 92
Zebedee 92Erm, I forgot to do it in descending order.

He is easily the best 2yo I have seen so far. If he turns up whatever those trends are I would happily ignore them.
May 9, 2010 at 17:08 #294979Are Raceform interactive ratings the same as RPRs?
You need a RPR of 95+ for once-raced horses and 97+ for twice/thrice-raced runners.
Zebedee 92
Zoffany 87
Head Space 90
Retainer 91
Samuel Morse 86
Temple Meads 89
Cape To Rio 91
Zaidan 85
Mr Mojito 85
Klammer 83
My Son Max 86Cape To Rio certainly looks like the one who could progress the most at a nice price.
May 9, 2010 at 17:23 #294983Yes, I think in general they are the same.
The only difference in the 5 I listed is that the RPR of Retainer is 95.
However, at this stage of the season, the ratings are being adjusted fairly frequently as more collateral form becomes available.
Do you reckon that 95 is the original mark, that the RP still has, and it has been downgraded subsequently, or vice versa?
May 9, 2010 at 17:26 #294988Cape To Rio may need ground conditions which favour him, the sire has an influence for slower going?
Temple Meads and Retainer head my list as the most visually exciting horses seen so far and Retainer’s form has been franked nicely.May 9, 2010 at 17:27 #294989The three to have run out of Retainer’s race have all won, so it looks like 91 was the original mark, and it has subsequently been upgraded to 95.
May 9, 2010 at 17:29 #294990You must been reading my posts on this horse Head Space last month gone on about him in 2yo thread. When you think the 2nd came out and won as well he looks very good.
May 9, 2010 at 17:32 #294991I’m definitely confused now. I’ve just looked at Retainer on the Racing Post site, and it is 91 ! Looks like I must have written it down incorrectly, though privately my conviction would be that it had changed back again in the past half-hour!!!
May 9, 2010 at 17:36 #294992No, I was right the first time
HORSE/SP AGE WGT TRAINER/JOCKEY OR TS RPR RATED

May 9, 2010 at 19:51 #295013You must been reading my posts on this horse Head Space last month
No, no-one has.
May 9, 2010 at 20:00 #295015A bit harsh that Zarkava is
And i know Wallace has read it so there is 1 out there
May 9, 2010 at 20:03 #295016Yeah Head Space looks best Juvenile so far.
More interested in Invincble Spirit as the sire rather than the track preformances.
The sire of Sea The Stars Half Brother who also is a 2yr old this year
May 9, 2010 at 20:05 #295018Well I mean all you ever do is say ‘oh I mentioned that horse months ago and now look’. And if you’re not doing that all you say is ‘What do you guys think of Sagacious, she is my Oaks tip’.

‘Darren’, from the ancient celtic meaning ‘narcissist, he that knows everything’ (either that or stilvi has found the resolve to form his own opinion).
Head Space was certainly impressive, as was Retainer, but I would agree with Kopwas that Temple Meads is the most interesting prospect to have seen a racecourse thus far.
That said, quotes of 8/1 (Head Space) and 10/1 (Temple Meads) wouldn’t be enough to tempt me in to betting on a race like the Coventry at this stage of the season.
May 10, 2010 at 00:38 #295060Retainer’s now showing a RPR of 95.
