I’ve booked tickets for the king George this year. But I’m struggling with a hotel for a couple of nights that is handy for the racecourse.
Everything I’m seeing on the usual hotel sites is based in and around Heathrow airport which isn’t really what I’m after.
We’d be travelling down on Xmas day and would like somewhere that has a restaurant on site or nearby at the very worst. I appreciate that getting a restaurant open on Xmas day evening may not be easy to find but somewhere within driving distance of somewhere that has a few Turkish/kurdish/Indian type places that will be open as they couldn’t give a monkeys if it’s Xmas day!
Thanks in advance gents. X

Worth a try…have a great time.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 5, 2025 at 18:17 #1731988Thanks Jac.
A premier inn would be fine if it was just me going or with a bunch of friends but I’ll be taking the Mrs and little un who’s (or will be) 18 months. So we need somewhere that might not be too rowdy and has a few amenities that can also offer us a travel cot.
I don’t need the park lane but something a little more upmarket.
June 26, 2025 at 22:16 #1734730Got a lovely room in a hotel at a place called Shepperton ten mins drive from the track for 3 nights for £275!
Considering the time of year it’s a cracking deal!
The only difficulty will be finding enough places to eat open between Xmas Eve and Boxing Day!
June 26, 2025 at 22:25 #1734731I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Shepperton due to snow at Heathrow a few years back, was a decent place. Lots of film type posters around and the normal bits and bobs associated with the actors.
I would suggest travel insurance as a precaution, just in case the races are cancelled due to the weather. - AuthorPosts
