I don’t get into politics generally, as I find it very tedious and only suitable for the pub bore types.
Same with everyone wanting to talk about Coronavirus – There’s more than enough of that in the media. For me, coming onto a forum is to have a break from all that and that’s why I’m a Lounge Lizard.
Girls just wanna have FUN.. and Boys!

This one is for the people, like our friend, Drone, who are lucky enough to have an Allotment to go to in these restricted times.

My little bit of Eden is a particularly paradisiacal escape during these trying times

The Stones take on the lockdown
April 27, 2020 at 18:23 #1487634This is the most relevant song to the current situation from my eyes as Elon Musk sends 44,000 satellites into orbit to beam 5g on every inch of this planet and the masts go up everywhere. Essential work? No more than 2 people gatherings ensure nobody can protest it.

Wherever you roam
And admit that this toxin
Around you has grown
And accept that soon
You’ll be stricken to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you’d better keep hanging on in,

Not so long ago, I thought that this would be over with fairly quickly and we’d all just go back to our own normal Not so sure that this will be possible for us oldtimers now though. The time may not change quick enough for us to ever get fully back to where we once belonged
May 6, 2020 at 09:13 #1487927Very thought provoking Tank, and I, as a creature of nature and used to chewing fresh green pastures on high verdant hills and watching the early morning dew form and nestle on welcoming blades, have been carried bleating inside and am now find myself watching old millionaire in between my racing fodder, which by the way, has kept me well alive, whilst Huxley’s brave new world has been leafed through appropriately.
flatcapgamble… I never thought when I was a sprog I would end my days sharing my dinner with a curmudgeonly old hill creeper.

I’m well into the old Millionare programmes myself, gamble, plus Homes under the hammer, think I’m seeing repeats of repeats now
Glad you are making the Yankee racing pay, I did a bit and the South African when that was still going, but my heart wasn’t in it and I’m out of the loop now and coping quite well

May 7, 2020 at 00:36 #1487955Well Tank, just finished Roger Wills Down interspersed With Tampa earlier on – just wish Betfair would use numbers in the my bets section – I always work with numbers – I am OK with the name of a horse, but put the number up with it.
Anyway I tend to have cucumber sandwich instead of drinking these days. Alcohol slows me up and haven’t had any since last Friday. I am very pleased where I am with my betting strategies at the moment and I try to bet as an observer and not feel I have to get involved. My hero is the tortoise – slow and careful. I do not go for it like I used to, and try to adopt a measured approach, and there is a limit to how much I will risk, but I don’t use Kelly at the moment and do it rather like the pinball wizard – by feel.
I don’t really miss South Africa as I have branched out and Betfair will dictate where I bet, but yes if you are out of the loop then have a break and yes there is work to put in. I have never bet for fun and I also think if you are scraping bits here and there – that also isn’t worth the effort.
Tarrant is a genius on that show but I do not get to watch much TV. I had Emily on in the background this evening that’s Newsnight but watched nothing else. Poirot I like and some period dramas – Belgravia was quite watchable. I watch the odd filum. Never watch morning or day TV – makes me sick.
Anyway must away – a few thoughtful moments and then rest… The dog’s already in biscuit land.

Not a fan of daytime tv either. Will sometimes flick the tv on in bedroom to catch homes under the hammer, as it starts about the same time as PopMaster finishes on Radio 2 – which I always listen to in bed with a refreshing cup of tea. But generally get my Homes fix on freeview 25 later. < How sad that sounds to my younger self, but suits me quite nicely now
