Thoughts on (the monster) Ghaiyyath for this race? I am massive fan and was very confident for the Coronation Cup.

However I am a believer that he needs a long break between runs. Is 4 weeks too short?

Trainer reckons he no longer needs long breaks. We shall see at the weekend.

Couldn’t back him myself, il believe he can back up one big run with another when I see it

If he does then I think he will take all the beating

Though I see magic wand in there, guess she is in there to try to spoil ghaiyyaths race and set it up for japan

Regal Reality ran very well in this last year, and was solid at Ascot too.

I think that 25’s is big on that basis, and though near impossible to see him win, I’d be happy with third.

Strad was way undercooked for the CC, bad race, ghaiyaath has beaten nothing in any of his “impressive wins” bar his last which im definitely putting a line through

Will be having a massive lay against him and will dabble with a place lay also, way overrated for me

Lord north will be interesting as i cannot see him running to 124, i may be wrong but his profile does not merit him actually achieveint that rating.

Japans over too short a trip but who knows, strangers things have happened.

If enables fully cooked and she actually turns up ill have her down as virtually unbeatable, odds against i cant see how i wont be unloading after decs

Will be interesting to see the ratings after the race if she does what i think she might to this largely overrated field, hopefully the 8 stand

Race of the weekend coz of the standard, and one that is looking a ‘no bet’ race for me.

Enable – will she need the run and is she as good as she was?
Ghaiyaath – can he back up the last win?
Japan – can he improve enough from his first run, over this trip, against this opposition?
Lord North – can he step up again?

    Anything can happen. :mail:

Yes we have the King George winner and arc 2nd, the prince of Wales winner, the coronation cup winner and the juddmonte winner all going at it

Sit back and enjoy without a bet I’m thinking

Unless Enable drifts to a more backable price that is

If Japan wins this, he goes favourite for the Arc…

Ghaiyyath for me also kris-kin and condfident this is his year and he will not need that long lay-off between races. Still has Enable to beat but she may possibly need her race.
Ghaiyyath to make all. :bye: Jac

I didn’t give Ghaiyyath a chance in the Arc but at this distance and on a fast track I like him here over Enable. If Enable turns up fit and ageless then Ghaiyyath probably finishes second but when do you bet against Enable if not now?

Deirdre will also be a key horse in my exotics.

when has a fully fit ENABLE (ie no training hold ups/niggles) ever really needed a run – she is simply the best horse in race and will win – all the talk about the rest is irrelevent as they arent in same league. having said all that i dont back anything at odds on so i wont be having a bet just be watching and admiring.

Won’t be fast ground though. What a race! Impossible to work this out really, other than Enable looks obvious but this is a much better race than last year so FTO you have to take her on really. What the hell is Ghaiyyath going to do?! Such a fascinating line up.

Makes sense to go EW now antipost in case one drops out and I agree with VTC I think, Regal Reality ran a nice race at Ascot considering the ground was against him. He should improve this year and he looks overpriced. I’d also be happy with third.

I’m not sure 10f is ideal for Japan but he should definitely come on for that Ascot run. he’s a bit short now to beat Enable though.

Is RR definitely running anyone know?

Magic wand is the key runner for me

If she is in the race simply to ensure ghaiyyath goes too fast then horses like japan, lord north and even deirdre become very interesting e/w plays if all 8 go to post
