Like an early bet in this, but no massive fancy right now. Was very interested in Mr Adjudicator, but his run last week was desperate, and cooled on him a little after that. I’m sure that there’ll be many more from the yard who fill that gap.

I’m safe with McFabulous as my biggest fancy right now, as he’s not quoted in any lists, so no chance of wasting any cash Antepost. Been following him since the early days, and though he’s been frustrating, he’s also had some good days, and thought he shaped well for a long way on Saturday.

The Cleeve, and The Aintree Hurdles seemed to find him out, and I think he’d be very interesting back in a handicap.

Dans Le Vent is another I’d like to see, but I’m happy to wait till I see the entries. Hoping that McFabulous is in there.

Micro Manage, who I’ve bet for The County Hurdle, is also in here, and I’ve taken him to win 14-1 nrnb

I also think that Tronador is vastly overpriced, so I’ve taken 33-1 nrnb

Maze Runner is my third fancy, and I may add him at around 25-1

McFabulous gets his entry. Happy to see him in there, but less happy at not taking the 25’s which was available NRNB, when he was eventually added to market.

Won’t be betting Antepost in this. McFabulous definitely the one I’m most interested in right now, but given the length of this shortlist, not one penny till Final Decs

    Shortlist
    An Epic Song
    Dans Le Vent
    Ganapathi
    Heaven Help Us
    Herbiers
    McFabulous

20/1 nrnb for Five O’clock will do me

Hasn’t run since the 2020 Martin pipe when he went off 7/1 and finished just outside the places after being impeded

Just think he’s a fascinating entry

Should probably back him for the pipe too just incase he sneaks a mark 145 or lower but don’t want to add another there yet

    Cobblers Dream @ 37/1

The most impressive handicap hurdle winner i have seen by far this year anywhere when winning that 100K handicap at Kempton a few weeks back. I had a good go on the second that day as i thought he had a good few pounds up his sleeve. It looked 50/50 at the last hurdle but he just totally destroyed him in the end.

The trainers been talking about sending him to Punchestown for a race they won with Deep Trouble for the same owner a few years back after this race, which maybe suggests he may have a good fair bit more improvement to come still.

If he was a Gordon Elliot horse and came over and won a 100K race like that i reckon he would be not far off FAV.

    I’ll try Ganapathi 20-1 ew 6 places
I think they expected a little more from him last year and wonder if he hasn’t been out earlier this season to protect his mark. I think he got a mention as having schooled well recently too.

I’m going to leave it until tomorrow and hope for a drift on Indigo Breeze. Jordan Gainford is claiming a handy 3lbs and he was ‘tenderly ridden’ on his last start, hopefully to save his mark for this. I think he’ll appreciate the better ground and going out in trip. Currently 14s.

Cracking line up, and all over the place here.

Grass, Ganapathi a very interesting shout. Really liked him last year, and I almost went with him.

    Got a final shortlist of……

    Dans Le Vent
    Drop The Anchor
    McFabulous
    Tronador

I have to bet McFabulous with him being first named here, and I’ve decided to also go with Tronador.

McFabulous will be win only, as I think he’ll be bang there turning for home, and hopefully get stake back. Tronador definite EW. I’ve bet him win 33’s, but I’ll also go EW Max Places. Really like the claimer, and haven’t forgotten that run at Aintree last year.

Dans Le Vent chased him home that day, and having followed him for best part of two years, not deserting him now. Always a solid EW Selection.

Always pay close attention to Henderson’s and Mullins here, and very interesting that Mullins settles for just the two with Ganapathi and Maze Runner.

I thought that If The Cap Fits for Munir/Souede was ideal for this, but I see that they prefer their Call Me Lord with Henderson, and he’s a big old price.

    Dans Le Vent EW 8pls
    McFabulous
    Tronador EW 8pls/33’s

You,ll know after 2 hurdles where u are with McFabolous Bobby , he,s become a bit disappointing but the headgear will help , Drop the Anchor is a popular shout and I think he,ll be a play

    170 Hang In There
    167 Top Moon
    166 Garry Clermont

    163 Camprond
    160 McFabulous
    160 Maze Runner

Two of my top three go up in trip and the other comes down. I’ll take the three against the field and trust one or more of the trainers to get it right.

Top Moon 100/1 and Hang In There 80/1 e/w 7 places 1/5th odds. A small nibble at both at those odds. Top Moon’s first race for Ben Haslam who has worked wonders with some of JP’s head cases!

I’m going to give Grand Roi a go here. Went off favourite last year but things didn’t go his way. It would be a big stretch to say he would have won with a clear round but he definitely has the ability to be involved. He’ll be staying on and won’t mind any rain, the more the better in fact.

I’ve been ‘boosted’ to 25/1 with 7 places so that’ll do for me.

Can’t resist a small bet on Call Me Lord 25/1 ew

A bigger bet on Drop the Anchor who should be suited by conditions. 9/1 ew

Hardest race of the week I thought. I’ve backed 4 for small fun stakes, a winner would see me level at worst if everything else on the day gets beat on the day but I could have backed 15 probably.

Ganapathi, Mars Harper, The Shunter and Indigo Breeze for me.

Particularly keen on the latter if pressed for one. Good luck all :good:

    Ganapathi
    Christopher Wood
    Maze Runner
Added the latter two as both got form on soft ground and good ew prices.
Good luck for the cavalry charge all
