56 entries, once again weights to follow, but the ORs mark your card.

June 14, 2023 at 15:56 #1651476OR of 160 over hurdles, despite IMO never being the most natural of jumpers, I can see why he’s of interest.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 14, 2023 at 16:37 #1651479The bookmakers have not exactly missed him.
He could hack up but I might have a little each way on Scriptwriter instead if he runs.
June 14, 2023 at 16:41 #1651480Nusret, Vauban, Sir Rumi dependant on prices nearer the day
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 14, 2023 at 17:01 #1651481If I was backing Vauban, a slight concen is if Mullins books Moore to ride. He can be a little over-confident at Ascot and gives horses too much to do in the short home straight. MC Muldoon at the Royal meeting a few years ago is still a painful memory!
June 14, 2023 at 17:07 #1651483Vauban will probably be very short, already 2/1 AP fav and even shorter if Moore gets the ride so will more than likely pass on him
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 14, 2023 at 17:23 #1651485Agree Nathan. If he goes off that kind of price, I am happy to watch him either hack up or Moore find every bit of trouble going.
June 14, 2023 at 18:09 #1651488I hadn’t seen any betting when commenting – maybe FF91 hadn’t either.
And there was me hoping for 5/1 plus!
I think the bookmakers have taken no chances and if Vauban isn’t at least as big the morning of the race I’ll be surprised.
Could still go off shorter, though, like Gaelic Warrior (13/8?) in that 4yo handicap hurdle he got beat in at last year’s Cheltenham Festival.
When the money’s down it’s down with that lot and their followers.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 14, 2023 at 18:24 #1651492The price is vomitous but predictable
All it takes is a low draw and a slow stalls exit, very possible since he’s been in jumps races exclusively for a while, and he’s stuck on the inside miles back with no hope
June 15, 2023 at 12:41 #1651541Raymond Tusk down 4 from last years race up 2 from last run , liked the look of the Newmarket run and has always given me a decent run for some each way money , iam going to give him another ew go , should be 25s ish .
June 15, 2023 at 13:48 #1651547It’s confirmed Vauban races off an OR of 101, carrying 9st8lb.
The way I calculate these things, that’s a lenient Flat mark for a hurdler with an OR of 160.

He may well be chucked in but at 2/1 can be swerved I’d say
He’s 9/1 with skybet for the ebor which doesn’t appeal a great deal either
June 16, 2023 at 09:16 #1651621I read Willie Mullins was talking about a go at the Melbourne Cup after last years Cheltenham win with Vauban .The Ebor is the set up race for a lot travelling down , Max Dynamite had similar profile .
The scans required now may have put him off that idea .June 16, 2023 at 11:32 #1651631If Weston shows up here he’d be of interest for me..
Ran a lovely stable debut for me, i imagine he’s been bought for hurdling in time, but a step back up in trip looks exactly what he wants + 1m6 should bring out even more improvement.
I’d be sort of interested in the Mullins second string too with Buick on board, 2m4 on debut, he’s probably a better flat horse than Vauban was.

Wouldn’t it be easier to identify the horse by simply typing its, err, name?
