Can someone help with an unimportant little query: Is there more than one Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum ?

The reason I ask is I’m getting used to seeing the green with red cap colours, normally carried by Mark Johnston horses which run in this owners name…..but there are also entries, like Grand Fleet (Kem 5.05 Sat) which looks to be for the same “owner” but the colours are white with a blue triangle, link to the race below.

It may be that thr RP card is not right as yet, but would be interested if there is another reason?

This is only a guess, but I suspect that the RP still have the white with the blue triangle as the default colours for Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and thus at the six-day entry stage these are the ones that are automatically loaded against each of his entries; they will presumably be overwritten by the green colours when the 48-hour decs file arrives. The white colours were used in recent years in Britain (for instance by Excusez Moi), but seem to have been replaced by the green ones this year.

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is Sheikh Mohammed’s second son. In Dubai, his colours are like the famous maroon Sheikh Mohammed colours, but with a white sash.

I believe he is also crown prince of Dubai these days – ie. the one who will take over one day.

"bin Mohammed" means "son of Mohammed". In the same way, Sheikh Mohammed himself, a son of the previous ruler Sheikh Rashid, is Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum.
