John
Congratulations on an excellent winner today.
I see from one of your early posts that your approach is a "convoluted offshoot of VDW". Another couple of winners and even the most closed-minded of contributors whose posts I’ve been reading with amusement on the VDW thread may be getting Mr Peach’s booklets out again!

Was CAVENDISH in the 19:45 at YAR a condender ?
Paddy Power knocked back my £0.37 bet.
April 19, 2008 at 00:24 #158623Hi Quadrilla,
No, Cavendish would not have been considered.
My selections are confined solely to C2 hcps.
There is nothing more this weekend, but there might be something on Tuesday.
April 19, 2008 at 06:53 #158633Great start –
btw – aren’t all VDW offshoots ‘convoluted’?
April 19, 2008 at 08:43 #158659John,
Very well done with your selections to date. As you are one of the VDW cognoscenti, can I ask if A. King is putting what I believe is known as the "compress" into practice in today’s Scottish National?

GoodlifeApril 19, 2008 at 10:05 #158677Cormack,
There are so many takes on VDW that the answer to your question has to be yes. In my own case I am seen by some as a dreadful heretic as I do not regard consistency as being important. Whilst it is true that most winners have been consistent, their consistency is not the reason they win, therefore consistency is only a statistical tool and as such is inherently misleading.
Goodlife,
I think that Mr King has seriously annoyed his peers by declaring Halcon Genelardais. If either the latter or Old Benny doesn’t win he’s going to look foolish and will have to scurry away from the track to preserve his honour!

April 26, 2008 at 11:09 #159997Simply dreadful betting conditions but as the primary objective is to test the theory then discipline must be maintained.
