Actually quite annoyed with myself for even posting on this thread.

Especially as I’m forever preaching that “No reply IS a reply.”

    Lesson learned.

far, far, far too busy these days
Tank and Ricky must be getting bored waiting for it at the graveyard

Maybe I’m biased, but I was first on here about 15 years ago and I’d say it’s better than ever.

It seems to me it used to be full of clones – I often wondered if gamble created them all so he could talk to himself and gamble does seem to recall them all more vividly than anyone else – and it was more surreal than any David Lynch movie.

It’s just exceptionally eclectic nowadays – love it tbh.

I use the more modern social media like Twitter, but there’s still room for forums like TRF, I think.

    Agree Ian..
I use twitter for the football (Liverpool) I follow about 10k and have 12k followers and news is fast however I still preferred it when the old forum was about. Less trolls etc and could get more into a convo/topic rather than a like fest
Facebook I use for family and friends so not much happening there

I came here very long ago over 20 bloody years. Apart from stealing my youth the place hoisted me up for ridicule and cut my neck. I came back for curiosity and to avenge the demons.
All the clones were on the flutter forum – Jesus Christ and Harry Secombe’s willy to name two of Marshall’s creation. These and other were confirmed by World Crossing who ran the forums. They breached confidentiality and gave me the information in writing. Detective’s gold – a shortcut and going for the head of the snake.
TAPK’s clever Sharp Blade was the only confirmed clone in this place (ie that is to say double). That’s not to say there were not many others.A lot like Tank changed their usernames with their underpants and this is cloning behaviour and deceit but doesn’t tick all the boxes of a true clone.
Salty Jack drove me to madness aka Holmes and Moriarty. I secretly found his whereabouts and true ID in the end, but was so exhausted by the year long search I had lost all interest to inform the herd.

    Living in the past !!!

    Oh, we won’t give in
Let’s go living in the past
Oh no, no we won’t give in
Let’s go living in the past
    B-)

Are you sure they weren’t all just YOU, gamble?

You’re the only one who remembers them at all and you remember them so well.

I’d be quite crestfallen to think they were all different people – another illusion shattered.

If your memory serves you well Ian, I only cloned once with Flatcap on Flutter. He held himself responsible for creating other clones and for the four weeks of mayhem that resulted in the CLONE WARS which put the final nail in the coffin of the Flutter forum and it was closed a couple of months after. You banned me quite correctly but I had left a secret code ( the first letter of words combined to give Flatcap an exoneration)
Flatcap was brought back to life by you as you realised the expose had only been a big wheeze and wind up. Very fair on your part and you were a very competent and liberal admin back then.
Flatcap is still a clone on the Ultimate forum and coexists with gamble. I haven’t visited there for a few years. One day I hope to revisit what is Gary’s old place. Gary emigrated to South Africa – do not know why and if he is still there. It’s not a public forum but is filled with good sorts and a few from here.
The CLONE WARS were created by the infamous David Marshall as you well know.

As I recall, I orchestrated the closure of the Flutter forum so we could spam the Betfair forum without them having a means to retaliate.

It wasn’t at all Harvard Business School, the public schoolboys at Betfair weren’t expecting that sort of lowdown dirty trick from Silicon Valley, but I never was big on quality!

Interesting – Well you informed me in advance -which was a nice thought. I think you were of the mind you felt it had run it’s course and I thought the reason was it was detracting from the pink and blue betting platform that was the bread and butter.
Betting on that platform was extra special it had a much better feel than Betfair. It was from an artistic viewpoint PERFECT !

I informed you in advance because you were Flutter forum ROYALTY, I think you even met Tom Johnson, a very intelligent guy who went on to great career success at Betfair.

I don’t remember if I met Mr Johnson – unless he was the guy who was expecting to interview a man called gamble. We went over to the Well pub and he started asking me rather strange questions. It was very weird but he had an appointment with another man called gamble and I turned up.It was an amazing coincidence as I asked to speak to him in reception. He thought I had come a bit early for the interview but in fact I was the wrong person – the wrong gamble.
I did meet (and had long emails with) Mr Wu the software guy if my memory serves me correctly. Those were very strange days !
